I know a lot of these people can't afford to move out on their own, and I wish our government could see this as an emergency to have these people moved out of Zimbabwe. I sure wouldn't feel bad about our tax dollars being spent on the military expence of blowing away this dictatorship and bringing these people to America. Then we could start with saving five million South Africans from their obvious future.

I don't know about the rest of you here, but I'm becoming more of an isolationist by the day. I feel as though we should take all the Jews from Israel, all the Christains from Lebanon, all the whites from S.Africa and Zimbabwe, all the Conservatives of Britain and just fly them here and isolate ourselves from the rest of the world. Get out of the U.N., NATO, and the WTO. Most of the world acts as though they want us out of it anyway. I expect countries like Russia, China, France, Cuba, N.Korea, and most Muslem countries to be against us, but when countries like S.Korea say we're ruining things thier, Briton backs away and moves closer to the E.U.'s opinion, "friendly" Arab nations start backing away (Saudi Arabia-Kuwait-Bahtein-Egypt), all of Latin America moving in telling us Spanish will also be spoken here even though it doesn't matter because they plan to seperate as soon as they get a big enough percent of the vote.... Why are we waisting our time??? Maybe the only way we can be a free Capitalist country with an American way of life is to be JUST AMERICAN and forget the rest of the world. They really do deserve each other.

I can tell you this much, the reply by Paul Wellstone is for real... he has NO IDEA... the problem is that that's with ALL subjects.

My point was that Europe puts conditions on Turkey that they don't put on others or even themselves. Maybe Turkey needs to look at some human rights issues, but I could look at Britain in the last thirty years or so and say they have a few N.Ireland issues to look at. Are they not controlling part of an island to protect Protestants? Haven't they also been found guilty of torture to obtain information? My point is that I see a little bit of a "double-standard" in dealing with the Turks. They are not only a good friend of the U.S. and Israel, they are more European in nature than they are Mideast. I would just hate to see new problems start in this area of the world. This nation is a perfect example to the other Muslem nations why control of extremist-Muslems are a good thing. I don't want to show them that thier is no reward for working with the west.

This reminds me of a losing Grey Davis in California playing his last trump cards to keep in the running... Forget it Europe, Britain knows it's going to happin and they want to be with the winners. I thing even the liberals in the U.K. know they would be better off with the U.S. than with the E.U.

Well I was just reading (in the Washington Times" that the Air Force has ordered three "Big BLU's" on an urgent basis. These are the 30,000 pound bunker-busters guided by satellite. I don't think Saddam's going to make it this time.

Israel "may" hit back? Israel "SHOULD" hit back. I've said it many times, and many in here have told me I was a dope for thinking it possible, or they've said we would be starting WWIII, or that we were to weak to do it. I felt to go after Afghanistan by itself was fine, but for a second move why don't we REALLY get some help and hit "many" countries. Turkey and Israel would be good help. I see no big problem getting Syria/Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and The Sudan, all at once. We could do this by helping some help themselves. By arming the Christains and the Druze of Lebanon we could Liberate this nation all the while Israel could clean up the southern part of Iranians and thier "friends". They could also be hitting Syrians in Lebanon and Syria. Syria can't afford to lose thier military, and would probably fall back quickly. We could be arming Christians in the southern part of the Sudan along with very few American troops to move on the government in the north. I realize that Iran and Iraq are a lot to move on at the same time, but Iran seems to be helping anti-American forces everywhere, and we don't want our enemies to be moving from Afghanistan to Iran to Lebanon to Iraq to Iran... you get the point, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide if we get them all at once. Who says we have to wipe them out in 60 days... Our bombs don't care when they are used. We didn't go into WWII with all the weapons we needed, we built them on the way... we need to understand that this is not a choice, this decision is being made for us by our enemies. When someone wants to hurt you, you have no choice... Right? Saudi Arabia doesn't like thier "special" friendship with the U.S. - I think they'll change thier minds after a bold move like this, I think many will be more "pro-American" when they see were not playing games anymore.

90% of Turkish Cypriots want to be a part of Europe/E.U.??? Of course they do. I would bet the southern part would vote that way too. I would also bet that most of Turkey itself would. What I question is... Why do some countries that control people that want independance from them not included in the "not able to join the E.U." club. For example: France and Spain and the Basque peoples that want independance. Did the Germans in Alsace and Lorraine have a choice? Austria has been trying for decades to get the "German" part of Tyrol that should NEVER have been a part of Italy. I know most of you know how many differant peoples in Europe have had thier rights walked on by one E.U. member or another, and nobody used that as a pre-requisite for E.U. membership. So I guess you have to be Turkish in order to get this special attention???

Well China doesn't care now... but they have thiers coming. It will be much easier for these countries they are selling missile info to, to hit them, then it is to hit us. These Muslems will remember what they did to thier brothers in time. What really bothers me is that so many innocent people will die because of what some sick Muslems did. I just can't believe ALL Muslems are bad, any more than I believe ALL Catholics are bad because a few priests are child molesters. It is hard to explain it to my kids though.

This is just another reason the Muslems should look at things before making such stupid moves, like hitting a economical landmark, in the biggest city, in the most powerful country in the world. Idiots!! Now, any country in the world can kill muslems in thier country, and America can do little to help, lable them a terrorist, and all is said. I know China is just taking advantage of the situation. I know they do the same to other religions, but this was a very stupid thing to do. This was like going up and pushing cops around in the middle of a riot, you KNOW your going to get a beating. Behind China, I expect other countries to do this. Africa and India need little reason to act.

This whole thing just makes my stomach turn... lazy scum... Do the people that promote these things WANT to be hated? It sure gives me that feeling (not blacks, those that want something for NOTHING). I can't think of any group(s) on earth that another group(s) hasn't done some form of injustice to. Everyone knows about slavery, so it IS about money. I say: pull your pants up and get a job or leave this TERRIBLE country.

I must have missed something, I don't see where they are blaming ALL Russians here. I don't think when someone says the "vice lords" is a black gang that they are saying ALL black people are killing and dealing drugs... take it easy... warm a milk, grab a blanket, and cuddle up to a good movie or book eh...

It really is hard to comment on things like this. In this time of history, Stalin was no better or worse than Hitler. All the people in the middle of these two "Evil Empires" were going to feel pain, and had little choice in thier future, certainly not a country as small as Latvia. Any people who willingly killed with the SS or the Soviets are nothing more than murderers. If they were fighting for thier country than they should be remembered as hero's.

In response to post #4, I too hate it when "people" make notice to the differances in Christian Religions. I'm a Catholic and went to private Catholic schools most of my life. As a child, I always looked at the Protestants as "differant" or "kinda evil". I had very few Protestant friends until I was about 16 or so. This feeling was put into my head, and I'm not even sure where it came from. Since then I see things as "Christian only", and make a point to mention that every time I see people pointing out the differances. To the other Religions of the world, they see only that we are Christians. I think WE should have noticed that a long time ago. If Shi'ite's and Sunni's can join together for a commen cause (against ALL others), then I think maybe we better start seeing what we have in commen and start forgetting past hatreds.
