Set during the 1950-1953 Korean war, the film favorably highlights the heroism of Chinese soldiers during a key battle—the Battle of Lake Changjin [Chosin Reservoir] (and referred to as “the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea” in China).

Here are things I learned on Thursday from the Senate Judiciary Committee: One can have a clinical phobia of flying yet take on a job with frequent business travel and vacations to far-away places like French Polynesia. "Search and Destroy" is not a military term but a routine vetting method used in job interviews in determining employment fitness. You can use pro bono lawyers to advance your cause and then have friends set up a GoFundMe page for you to collect upwards of $400,000 tax-free to cover the lack of legal fees. Safeway really does stand for safe way. Apparently,...

Is it just me or did you notice a huge disconnect between Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s older appearance and the baby-like quality of her voice and presentation? The juxtaposition was hard to miss. I am not trying to shame her, but she looks exceedingly older for her age than one would expect. Sometimes time isn't kind to us, but the mismatch between her inner world and her outer self is a huge discrepancy. For a woman who was by her account in a stressful situation in the hearing room, as she said “terrified,” she seemed to be all smiles and...

I'm a woman, a victim of sexual assault and I stand with Brett Kavanaugh. I am also angry, furious and disgusted at the Democrats, especially Democrat women leaders, for their sickening behavior throughout this confirmation process. I was assaulted 16 years ago, when I was in college. I remember all the details. I remember what year, what semester, where it happened, even down to what room. If something is serious enough to haunt you for decades, you remember it well.... I’m sorry for what might have happened to Dr. Ford. But as someone who has experienced sexual assault, I have...

A woman’s claims should always be taken seriously, but that does not mean taken as fact. Not every man who is accused of sexual assault is guilty, and with the #MeToo movement I’ve seen a disturbing trend where men are losing everything -- their job, their career, their family, their livelihood, their reputation -- all over one woman’s claim, without any investigation into or proof that the claims are legitimate. “Innocent until proven guilty” is being thrown out the window and that is problematic for men and women alike.... Now, with testimony concluded and the committee vote scheduled, we suddenly...

Politicizing the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks by comparing alleged Russian hackers to the al Qaeda hijackers who killed 3,000 Americans? For shame. Maine Senator Angus King, an Independent who votes with Democrats, made these comments this morning in Lewiston, Maine. He said that 9/11 was "the beginning of an attack that's continuing today. They used airplanes into towers, now people can use the click of a computer key in St. Petersburg, Russia."

McCain’s memorial remembrances were filled with themes of unity, inclusion, and compromise. They stressed how McCain was someone who could reach across the aisle, find consensus, and put differences aside to bring people together for the greater good. It’s too bad McCain’s final actions contradicted that message... Senator McCain had a perfect opportunity to be the “maverick” of his reputation. He could have been the unifier. He could have done the right thing by allowing even those he had unresolved issues with, differences with, to come and pay their respects and to honor him. He could have shown the country,...

It wasn't until recent years that I found myself in opposition to John McCain. The once "maverick" and "hawk" was anything but. He became a bought and paid for politician that had many in his own Party, turning on him. If it wasn't enough to learn about the numerous donations from George Soros linked businesses to his campaigns, with the rise of Donald Trump, we saw a very bitter and embattled man, who lashed out in policy decisions from what appeared to be his own personal issues. Trump did what McCain could not. Trump went on the attack - even...

The Seattle Times published an opinion piece entitled "Time to Retire the Blue Angels," which argued that the U.S. Navy demonstration team should not fly at Seattle's annual Seafair exposition. The author, Patrick Pilcher, wrote that he found the display "in poor taste," that the air show was a waste of money and a "display of military muscle-flexing that seems a bit outdated." Pilcher also believes that flying the jets is insensitive, since they "can be a reminder of the terror of death raining from the sky in the form of cluster bombs or other weapons" for "many recent immigrants...

“No one – nadie – has the right to invade someone else’s country,” the young lady informed me, her eyes snapping, her forefinger and thumb jabbing the air to punctuate her words. “And it does not matter what their politics are, how poor they are, or how many crocodile tears they cry.” Added a second young lady, equally as adamant and unrelenting, “The minute illegals cross the border, turn their a**es around and send them back where they came from. American gringos have to stop cowering to Latinos.” Now, before any bleeding-heart leftists start clutching their pearls, falling into a...

I get up each day and check my phone, you know, emails, text messages, and of course Facebook. That’s where it starts. People who are supposedly my friends are furiously attacking me for my political thoughts or things that I post. It’s not just mild criticism or logical argument (I wish). Often, it’s downright nasty, offensive, and disturbing. Did you know I was a Nazi? A Fascist? A racist? A Bigot? I’m one of those evil conservatives too. Dare I ever mention the name Trump.

Mr. Mueller is a cover-up artist of the first magnitude. A holier-than-thou shyster. A con artist. And a dirty cop. As well as a man who, once convinced of his own irreducible rectitude, will callously go to any extreme to protect his touted “integrity” – even if his icy indifference to the rule of law leaves devastation and death in its wake.
-
America is now enduring the chilling spectacle of its first Stalinesque political show trial. And just as with the Soviet Union’s brutal kangaroo courts, Comrade Mueller’s pre-programmed travesty will end with the execution of its victim. Oh, Paul Manafort won’t be taken out and shot at the trial’s end. Though eventually he and his family might wish he had been.

Shock surrounding the mysterious death of Justice Scalia is compounded by the realization that President Obama may take the extreme authoritarian step of using a recess appointment to put Scalia’s successor on the bench. This would allow Obama to put a far-left jurist on the court to swing the balance on important cases on the docket this year dealing with Obamacare, gun control, abortion, illegal immigration, religious liberty, energy and environmental regulation, labor union power, voting rights, and affirmative action.... Sources in Congress tell us that this week would be the most opportune time for Obama to make a recess...

Marco Rubio was the big winner in Monday’s Iowa caucus according to one prediction web site, vaulting into a commanding lead in the Republican race for the White House. ElectionBettingOdds.com, which tracks probabilities based on actual wagers for candidates, shows support for Rubio spiked overnight from around 32% to 54.3%, putting him firmly in the lead of the Republican pack. Support for previous front runner Donald Trump was virtually cut in half, from just over 51% to under 25.6%. Ted Cruz, who actually won in Iowa, nudged up slightly from the 10% range to 13.3%.

During the Democratic candidate debate Saturday night, Hillary Clinton alleged that the Islamic State terror group was circulating a recruitment video featuring Donald Trump. In fact ISIS released a video November 24 that makes no mention of Trump but does feature an image of Mrs. Clinton’s husband, former president Bill Clinton, as an example of the kind of person who inspires the jihadists to make mayhem.

When the White House called Corporal Tibor “Ted†Rubin to tell him he was to receive the Medal of Honor, he thought it was one of his friends playing a joke... Being awarded the Medal of Honor is another of a series of adventures in Ted Rubin’s remarkable life. He was born in Hungary in 1929, and at age 15 was sent to Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria. His first day there an SS captain told the assembled, “None of you will get out of here alive.†Ted turned to the man next to him and said, “Nice fellow.†......

Have you ever asked yourself what you would do if you encountered a crazed shooter at your school, workplace, or a public space? Your actions in that moment could save your life, and those of others.... Let’s focus on Fight. This is the one I’ve considered for 15 years. And has been heightened by my time in the Marines. When there is no escape, you MUST fight. Charge the attacker. Throw a water bottle, binder, book, coffee, chair, desk, back pack, anything, to throw them off. Then charge them.

In this newly released email from 2010, Hillary Clinton was trying to call the White House directly but was “fighting w the WH operator who doesn’t believe I am who I say.” Instead she has to call though State Department operations, “like a proper and properly dependent Secretary of State–no independent dialing allowed.”

Trump is a response to the excesses of the extreme left, that have been enabled by the silence of moderate Democrats and the support of the permanent underclass. As I have written since the appearance of Ross Perot in an earlier presidential election, the left will push and push until typical middle class citizens, the defenders of the American way of life as they have known it, finally reach out to a fighter who speaks their language.
