A Florida man demonstrated human' occupation of the top predator spot by shooting a big bobcat that had lost its fear of men.   The big cat was killing and eating a chicken a day for a month, and killed the last one just feet from the man  and his children. An Ocean County resident's 3-year-old pet bobcat has been missing since March 25, leaving neighbors on edge. Virginia Fine told NBC 10 Philadelphia her "sweet" and "super affectionate" 38-pound domesticated bobcat, Rocky, escaped through her home’s back door while playing with her dog. Rocky is up-to-date on all his shots and declawed, she told the news station. She also said he "has no aggression at all." The wild bobcat that attacked two people in Brookfield, Mass., leaving a man with severe gashes on his face and arms, had rabies, according to a town official. Stephen J. Comtois, chairman of the town council, announced at a council meeting Tuesday evening that the bobcat was infected with the neurological disease, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported. Thinking that she accidentally hit a large cat just after midnight Wednesday with her van, a woman in Veazie, Maine, put the unconscious animal in her vehicle to get it help. But after driving for several miles, she realized that this was no ordinary house cat: it was a wild bobcat.

Fred Greenshaw does not go to his attic often, but he went up there to grab an ice cream maker for his daughter's birthday. Instead, he found himself looking straight into the eyes of a bobcat.
