In March 2019, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, alongside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, took a victory lap after the Empire State passed its “red-flag” gun law, meant to facilitate the confiscation of firearms from people deemed a risk to themselves or others. “Something has to be done, because we are literally losing human life” to gun violence, the governor said. The measure doesn’t seem to have helped. In 2018, before the red-flag law was enacted, the number of shooting victims in New York City was at its lowest since 2002. Two years later, the city saw almost 1,000 more shootings than the...

Large-frame handgun? Small? What caliber? Glock? S&W? It's all about balancing 'Comfort vs Lethality,' says longtime Policeman. One of the best parts about being a cop is HR 218. This law allows officers to carry a firearm in practically every locale in the United States. "Carrying on your badge," as it’s referred to, is one of the few perks law enforcement still enjoys. In 2020, the job lost a lot of its appeal, but I still appreciate the fact that I can carry concealed to protect others and myself. In a perfect world, these rights would be afforded to every...

Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager charged with killing two people during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, over the summer, was recently spotted drinking at a bar and posing for photos with apparent Proud Boys sympathizers after being released from jail on $2 million bond, prosecutors say. Now, prosecutors in the state have filed a motion to modify Rittenhouse's bond conditions. Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, was charged as an adult with two counts of first-degree homicide and one count of attempted homicide. He also faces charges of recklessly endangering the safety of two other victims and possessing...

What is Lobby Day? VCDL has been holding Lobby Day since 2002 and it has always been on Martin Luther King Day. This day was chosen because it is in the beginning of the General Assembly Session, many people are off work, street parking is free, and the Delegates and Senators are in their offices. At least normally. This year, with COVID-19, things will be a little different, so we've adapted our plan to work with the current situation. Here are some scenes from previous years. CDL's Lobby Day is a day when normal, everyday Americans go to the Virginia...

America is hurting. Tensions are high. Coming together and having meaningful dialogue seem impossible. People are tired of politics creeping into everyday life. Worst of all, self-righteous "unifiers" uninterested in unity continue to fan the flames of division. Is it too difficult to set aside our differences, to lower the temperature, and to demand better from elected officials? It shouldn’t be. For instance, healing will take a backseat should the incoming Biden administration and Democrat-controlled Congress pursue aggressive gun control policies. Why? Democrats, Republicans, and independents don’t want to lose their Second Amendment rights. In the spirit of healing and...

I have a cousin in CA who wants an AR15. He and I understand there are a ton of hoops to jump through. Question 1. Can a CA resident legally have a complete AR15 upper, 16 inch barrel, 5.55 or 223 Wylde, shipped to their residence? Question 2. Same for a lower parts kit without the stripped lower? question 3. Do you need a background check to buy ammo in CA and how much can you buy at a time? Question 4. I believe 30 round mags are lawful in CA. Is that correct? Thanks.

Sure, the Frankfurt School Agenda dictated #8. An unreliable legal system with bias against victims of crime. But what have you done to equip yourself with non-lethal weapons? The hooks aren't to cause injury, they're to fix deployment of a security bolo to neutralize the assailants, to wrap the cord around the net so the bad guys can't get your loved ones. They have truck mounted wall & ground penetrating imaging that can see exactly what you have in your house. It will only take them 30 days. The militarization of domestic police depts from about the time Bubba met Loretta Lynch on...

The best defense is a good offense: a role the Heckler & Koch MK23 filled with ease. The story of the MK23 begins in 1991, with the Offensive Handgun Weapons Program. The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) wanted to find an accurate, reliable sidearm that could provide more stopping power than the newly-adopted Beretta M9 pistol. Though the M9 was not an ineffective sidearm, its 9mm pistol ammunition afforded considerably less stopping power than the M1911A1 it replaced.

Wisconsin prosecutors are seeking to change the terms of Kyle Rittenhouse’s bond agreement after the Kenosha gunman was spotted drinking at a bar and allegedly flashing white power signs earlier this month. The motion stems from an image of Rittenhouse, 18, at Pudgy’s Pub in Mount Pleasant on Jan. 5 wearing a T-shirt that read “Free as F–k,” WTMJ-TV reported.

There’s more than one way to neutralize a threat and these novel, thin, finned steel projectiles can put on a hurt at greater distance than buckshot - Flechettes were first used as small bomblets dropped from airplanes in World War I and World War II. Their use in small arms began in February 1951, when Irwin R. Barr of Aircraft Armaments Inc. came out with the concept of firearms flechettes. Initially, the emphasis was on firing one flechette instead of a standard rifle bullet. This led to the Army’s Special Purpose Individual Weapon (SPIW) program, as the concept was tested....

“The identity of the policeman who shot Ashli Babbitt is still unknown after more than a week since the shooting. This goes against a recent measure passed in DC mandating more transparency in police shootings.”

Kyle Rittenhouse flashed a hand sign adopted by some white supremacist groups and was “loudly serenaded” with a song reportedly adopted by the far-right group the Proud Boys as the 18-year-old drank at a Wisconsin bar last week, prosecutors said in a court filing Wednesday. Kenosha County prosecutors asked a judge to modify the rules Rittenhouse has to follow while he’s free on $2 million bail as he awaits trial on murder and other charges for shooting three men, two of them fatally, with an AR-15-style rifle during chaotic protests Aug. 25.

The Montana House will soon vote on legislation to defend self-defense rights by eliminating state government-mandated gun free zones at Montana university campuses and other schools on public property. KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Texas Rangers are investigating after a Killeen officer shot and killed a man Sunday evening whom police described as “emotionally distressed.” The officer responded to what police said was a psychiatric call at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Carrollton Avenue in Killeen. “Upon the officer’s arrival, he encountered an emotionally distressed man,” police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said. “The officer initially used his conducted energy weapon, which was ineffective, and then discharged his duty weapon during the encounter, striking the subject,” Miramontez said.

On Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs (From the book, On Combat, by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman) Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs | killology "Honor never grows old, and honor rejoices the heart of age. It does so because honor is, finally, about defending those noble and worthy things that deserve defending, even if it comes at a high cost. In our time, that may mean social disapproval, public scorn, hardship, persecution, or as always, even death itself. The question remains: What is worth defending? What is worth dying for? What is worth living for?" - William J. Bennett In a lecture...
