Warning: this article contains information some readers may find upsetting Duffy has called rape a “weapon of war” in a painful account of her experience of being kidnapped, drugged and sexually assaulted. The singer last released an album with 2010’s ‘Endlessly’, before disappearing from the public eye. Back in February, she broke her silence on her decade-long absence, explaining that she had been “raped and drugged and held captive over some days” and that her subsequent recovery “took time.” Now, she has posted a lengthy piece on her website, titled The 5th House. In it, she shares what happened to...

I say no. It is not worth the high unemployment and millions of destroyed businesses just so we could potentially save the lives of hundreds of thousands 80 years old citizens. Today is Day 7. We have until Day 15. Then let's go back to business as normal while keeping our elderly and medically vulnerable in quarantine. If we continue to lock things up to destroy our economy, well, the American people are not going to put up with it.

WARNING: Some pictures in the following story may be disturbing for some viewers. The remains of a mutilated animal left rotting in the street can be both disturbing to see and in some cases, illegal. But law enforcement rarely pursues charges in these cases which are more common than you might think. CASE IN THE ACREAGE Dorcas “DJ” Web has lived in the acreage for nearly 30 years. It’s an area she considered peaceful and quiet until she made a gruesome discovery down her street. She saw four cardboard boxes; one placed on each corner of the intersection. At first...

Things got bumpy aboard an American Airlines flight this week as two female passengers exchanged blows after one of the women used a racial slur to refer to a Black flight crew member. It’s unclear what sparked the altercation, but the video begins just as a Black woman passenger excoriates her white seatmate for using the N-word. A clip of the incident was posted Sunday by Facebook user Dre Justice and has since racked up more than 10,000 views online. “You’re gonna sit here and call him a ‘(expletive) (slur)’ while you’re sitting beside an African-American woman?” the passenger asks...

A 600-pound man who lost his job as a bus driver after failing repeated medical and physical evaluations cannot claim that he was discriminated against for being obese, state judges ruled Thursday. Corey Dickson sued Community Bus Lines, which does business as Coach USA, claiming that he was subjected to a hostile work environment before he lost his job. But a Superior Court judge last year dismissed the lawsuit because fat people are not one of the protected groups under the state Law Against Discrimination. That decision was upheld Thursday by a three-judge appellate panel. While disabled people are considered...

We've known about coronavirus since the 1960s. The coronaviruses HCoV-229E, -NL63, -OC43, and -HKU1 continually circulate in the human population and cause respiratory infections in adults and children world-wide. Do the test differentiate between the wuhan and the numerous other coronas?

Amazon has banned the sale of most editions of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” and other Nazi propaganda books from its store following decades of campaigning by Holocaust charities, The Guardian reported on Monday. According to the report, booksellers were informed in recent days that they would no longer be allowed to sell a number of Nazi-authored books on the website including Hitler’s autobiographical screed and children’s books designed to spread anti-Semitic ideas among children. In one email seen by The Guardian, individuals selling secondhand copies of “Mein Kampf” on the service have been told by Amazon that “they can no...

Dozens of Hindu activists held a cow urine party in the Indian capital Saturday to protect themselves from the new coronavirus, as countries around the world struggle to control the deadly pandemic. Members and supporters of All India Hindu Mahasabha staged fire rituals and drank from earthen cups to fight COVID-19 at the gathering in New Delhi dubbed a “gaumutra (cow urine) party.” Many in the Hindu-majority nation of 1.3 billion consider cows sacred and in recent years have made several assertions about the liquid being an elixir, claims that critics have rejected as quackery. “Whoever drinks cow urine will...

A woman has been diagnosed with a never-before-seen condition after doctors discovered she was urinating alcohol – without drinking a single drop. The unnamed patient, 61, has become the first person in the world to be diagnosed with ‘urinary auto-brewery syndrome’ caused by yeast in her bladder that ferments sugar in her urine to produce alcohol. The process is almost exactly the same as one used by beer makers – but it was happening in her own body. At first medics suspected she may have been hiding an alcohol addiction when urine tests for the drug were repeatedly positive. Kenichi...
