In the January 26 issue (#299) we reported that the anti-American & anti-war protests were very interesting not so much because of the subject matter but because of the players. About 5% were known mainline socialist/communist organizers. Nearly 20% had no reason for being there other than to try to get lucky. Another 20% were has-been hippies who just do not fit in anywhere anymore. At least another 20% had issues other than protesting a war. And it looked like the rest were just there because someone made them think it might be a good idea. It was something to...

The National Guard reservists later left amid hugs and tears from loved ones and waving flags of supporters, family, friends and veterans. March 18, 2003, 9:00 a.m. Seeing Red Spontaneous anti-American demonstrations? Think again. By Ion Mihai Pacepa Over the March 15-16 weekend there were simultaneous anti-American and pro-peace demonstrations around the world, with the largest in Athens and Moscow. It is significant that the headquarters of the Soviet-created World Peace Council (WPC) is now in Athens, and that its honorary chairman is still the same KGB asset, Romesh Chandra, who chaired this Cold War organization during the years when I was a Communist general. This current bashing of the U.S. makes me believe I am watching a revival of an old...

We would be for the defeat of the U.S. in this war," explained Abram Negrete, the leader of a small group that trekked from the Big Apple to the Washington Monument for this weekend's antiwar protests. "We are for the defense of Iraq. It is in the interests of working people in the United States that the same government which is trying to intimidate and silence them be defeated in this war." According to Negrete, America's plans are much more ambitious than merely deposing Saddam Hussein: "The current plan is to launch a war which is with the explicit intention...

Tracking Down A Fifth Column FrontBy Edward ImmlerFrontPageMagazine.com | September 18, 2002 Vietnam-era anti-war protestors continue their demonstrating today, most recently in San Francisco against a potential Iraq war, but the sponsorship, partnerships, and funding of these groups raise questions about their real purpose. They are very organized, have a significant Internet presence, and actively raise large amounts of money. This all started when I saw the name of a protest group listed in an AP wire story. I wondered a bit about this and tried to find out about this group via the Internet. I found that I could...

Editor, the Tribune: So the University of Missouri has a "peace studies" program, which uses university resources to encourage students to protest against their country and even to skip their taxpayer-funded classes to do it. Is this the same university that constantly whines that the people of Missouri are too miserly in their support for "higher" education? One wonders how many other asinine programs, departments and classes we are funding. Evidently, MU has no respect or appreciation for the sacrifices made by hard-working Missourians on its behalf. But it does explain the large number of anti-American letters to the Tribune...

See part one of series, "Useful Idiots: Marxists Exploit the Appeasement Movement." Part two: 'Hate-America Leftists' Lead the Appeasement Movement. WASHINGTON – NewsMax.com has learned that preliminary inquiries are or soon will be under way on Capitol Hill exploring the possibility of investigating the link between communists and radical Islamic terrorists. Evidence mounts that this coalition orchestrated the recent appeasement demonstrations against President Bush’s policy in Iraq. No decisions have been made on whether such a probe will go forward or what committee would be in charge. But conservatives who have seen documented evidence of that link believe now that...
