Amy Winehouse has committed a fashion crime. Yes, indeed. She borrowed £25,000 worth of designer frocks from London’s Harvey Nichols and returned them with vomit stains. There was even a furry mold growing on the satin and silk gowns that made them unwearable.

LONDON (AFP) - The husband of troubled British singer Amy Winehouse was jailed for 27 months Monday for attacking a pub landlord and perverting the course of justice. Grammy award-winning Winehouse, who was herself interviewed during the investigation, was not in court to hear the sentence against Blake Fielder-Civil, 26, at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London. Fielder-Civil admitted attacking the 36-year-old landlord of a pub in the trendy district of Hoxton in east London in June 2006, and of then trying to persuade the man not to give evidence against him. He was high on alcohol and cocaine when he...

As he so often does, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger now finds himself in the middle between his fellow Republicans and the Democrats in the Legislature, this time on the question of whether California government needs a new spending limit to end its cycle of boom-and-bust budgeting. Republicans say yes, emphatically. They want a strict limit that would shrink the size of government over time. Democrats say no, just as firmly. They want no artificial constraints on the power of the purse and say the state's problem is not reckless spending but a chronic shortage of tax revenue. Schwarzenegger has taken a...

Amy Winehouse could struggle to catch her breath and hit high notes as a result of suffering emphysema, a lung expert has said. The singer's father spoke out at the weekend about his worries that Winehouse could lose her life unless she kicks her drug habit. In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Mitch Winehouse said his daughter - who was rushed to hospital recently after collapsing - had developed the chronic lung disease emphysema, possibly brought on by smoking crack cocaine.

AMY Winehouse is facing a threat to her troubled career after a British tabloid uncovered video footage of the star singing a racist song. News of the World said the video showed Winehouse, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and a friend in what appears to be a dingy crack den. Winehouse and the friend are encouraged by Fielder-Civil to sing a racist song - complete with racist gestures - while he films it.

The harsh British press calls Amy Winehouse, “everyones favorite junkie,” and “everyone’s favorite crackhead.” Others who know her, are less flattering in their descriptions, with a list of slurs against Winehouse, that goes on and on. She is a tragic figure, a talented Pop Star with a death wish to die for, desperately in need of divine intervention. Her issues are so great, her father Mitch wants her committed. She’s a social disaster, a relationship disaster, and a fashion disaster, if she has a guardian angel watching over her, its wings are about ready to fall off.

Amy Winehouse appeared wild-eyed and dishevelled in court yesterday when she came to support her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The singer only arrived for the last 10 minutes of the hour-long preliminary hearing when her husband appeared on charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Any rift between the troubled star and her mother-in-law Georgette seemed to have been put aside as the pair sat together whispering and holding hands in the public gallery. She wore a grubby knee-length cream denim skirt and crumpled Fred Perry polo shirt with dishevelled blonde hair. On arrival...

LONDON (AFP) - Troubled soul singer Amy Winehouse kicked off her 17-date tour with a shambolic performance that saw fuming fans booing and marching out, reports said Thursday. “I'll beat up Blake when I'm drunk...If he says one thing I don't like then I'll chin him.”--U.K. singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse, speaking about her relationship with her new husbandI've noted on many occasions that research shows that domestic violence by women against men is a significant problem, and the "woman as victim/man as perp" model for domestic violence is a gross distortion. U.K. singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse recently bragged openly about physically abusing her husband. Men who beat their wives are locked up, stigmatized, and vilified--and rightfully so. Yet here a high-profile woman admits--no, brags--that she beats her husband, and it's...
