Free Republic is the first place I visit each day. It's the equivalent to reading the morning newspaper, but so much more. You already know it's wonderful culmination of new, information and comments. Oh, the comments! They are the best! Some of the smartest and most insightful people post and comment on Free Republic. Also, you'll probably see the latest breaking news here on Free Republic first. This is my home...I spend a lot of time here. I give a little each month to maintain this important place and I'm going to give a bit more. I don't want Free Republic to disappear because of lack of funding. I hope you will help too by giving and keeping the doors open.

Nasty as he could be, humblegunner served a purpose. Now there are several people who rarely, if ever, post comments, but take up space every day with their original content or blog posts—and never contribute. If we have a thread for JimRob's posts, his health or his birthday, we don't hear from them.
I too visit first thing each morning. Unfortunately due to the economic environment I’m currently in I can only donate a small amount each month. Hopefully things improve soon so I can donate more each month.
It is not the fact that the government agencies have full access to our private communications but that they order private companies to record and retain this information to use against us that is the big problem.
