In the latest issue of its Iceman comic book series, Marvel Comics introduces a new superhero named Shade. Shade is a mutant superhero drag queen, the first-ever drag queen in a Marvel series. Shade will be included in the latest issue of the Iceman series, which was written by an openly gay man named Sina Grace. The lead character in the Iceman comic book series is named Bobby Drake, who is gay. "I really wanted this series to push readers...

Actress Cynthia Nixon has been routinely described as trying to become the state’s first lesbian governor. But Nixon actually doesn't self-identify as a lesbian. She considers herself queer, campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said. Queer - one of the Qs in the LGBTQ movement, along with questioning—encompasses people who don't necessarily feel they fall under any specific label. Queer for decades had been used as a derisive term to attack nonheterosexuals. But in recent years, the term has been reclaimed by some - especially younger people - in the LGBTQ community. Hitt declined to discuss the reasons why Nixon identifies as...

Illinois senators advanced a plan requiring public schools to teach a unit on the role and societal contributions of gays, lesbians and other LGBT individuals. [Snip] The proposal requires all elementary and high schools to teach a unit studying "the role and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State." "People need to see their history to understand that they are a part of our society," said Sen. Heather Steans, the measure's sponsor. The measure would also have schools use more inclusive and "non-discriminatory" textbooks going forward. Johnson said the measure...

The attorney for Democratic Michigan Rep. John Conyers, who is accused of continuously sexually harassing his female staffers, defended Conyers by indicating that there are allegations against "many members" of the House and Senate. [Snip] "[Conyers' attorney] acknowledged that while these allegations are serious, they are simply allegations," the statement said. "If people were required to resign over allegations, a lot of people would be out of work in this country including many members of the House, Senate and even the president." The statement said that Conyers has "no plans to resign" despite calls for him to do so.

Los Angeles police are investigating almost two dozen cases of alleged criminal sexual misconduct connected to multiple people within the entertainment industry, a senior department official told NBC News. [Snip] Allegations span from misdemeanor sexual battery to felony rape, and in many cases, there are multiple complaints lodged against the same individual, the official said. With calls from victims continuing to roll in, the number of investigations is expected to rise. [Snip] The LAPD has also collected nearly 30 "courtesy reports" that take a victim's statement before referring the case to law enforcement agencies in other parts of the country...

The Clintons, Obama, Kerry and their pedophile pals. [Snip] Hillary Clinton wasn't the last Democrat presidential candidate to have deeply troubling links to pedophiles. Her husband was much worse. Bill Clinton took dozens of rides on Jeffrey Epstein’s Lolita Express. The top Democrat donor’s plane earned its nickname because of its association with the abuse of young girls. Like Hillary’s client, the tastes of Bill’s bosom buddy allegedly ran to twelve year old girls. An FBI investigation found 40 victims. And the Democrat in charge made sure that justice was served. Epstein spent a year under “house arrest” during which...

"What disgusts me about Kevin was how safe he did feel. He knew he could fondle me in a room with my father and that I wouldn't say a word. And I didn't," the actor wrote in a column for Buzzfeed News. Harry Dreyfuss, son of Richard Dreyfuss, has come forward to share his own experience with Kevin Spacey, who has been accused of harassment and assault by over 10 men.

A successful Dallas businessman pledging to spend in the seven figures out of his own bank account to run for governor in 2018 should be a great get for Texas Democrats. Yet the party doesn't seem to be getting behind Jeffrey Payne, whose business happens to be a gay bar. Payne, owner of gay leather bar The Dallas Eagle and winner of both the international and Texas Mr. Leather competitions in 2009, officially launched his campaign this week saying, "There's no reason to think that someone who is gay can't do a job, and here it's being governor and...

LGBTQ activists in cities across the country are calling for city officials to create "rainbow crosswalks" to "honor the LGBTQ community." "Rainbow crosswalks" are public crosswalks that have been repainted in rainbow colors, which have been adopted by the LGBTQ community as a symbol of greater acceptance and rights for LGBTQ causes and beliefs. Activists are urging local lawmakers to create the crosswalks through the use of petitions. Currently, one of the cities targeted is Chicago. [Snip] Washington, D.C., already installed temporary rainbow crosswalks honoring transgender persons earlier this year, and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced this week the...

There are greeting cards to celebrate and support people through all stages of life, from graduations to career changes to birthdays. But until recently, these sentimental notes haven't always included words of encouragement for transgender people or offered congratulations for a major event in their lives: transitioning. That, however, is now changing: Hallmark has started selling cards geared specifically toward the transgender community. [Snip] One in every 137 teens is transgender, according to a UCLA School of Law study published earlier this year. Due to societal stigma, trans people - and trans youth in particular - have a higher...

If you were to read some of the more hysterical headlines being churned out by certain elements of the gay press -- which are, in turn, being shared far and wide by and among the Left's outrage industry -- you might be forgiven for concluding that President Trump has just ordered an act of statistical genocide against the LGBTQ community. "We've been erased!" blares the title of a post on the National LGBTQ Task Force's website, while other outlets have prominently featured Trump in their ledes. [Snip] The Census has never included these questions before, and experts on the process...

Twenty-four hours before Alejandro Gómez Palomo's Palomo Spain show, Nicola Formichetti—arguably one of the industry's most clued-in, youth culture–glancing arbiters—told me, "You can't miss it." Then, five minutes before the runway lights dimmed, the expectations compounded. Bryan Grey Yambao, my seatmate, leaned over and said, "This is so fashion," referring to the crowd, which included singer Troye Sivan (wearing Palomo Spain's pink velvet trousers), photographer Ryan McGinley, and model Hari Nef. (A "fashion" crowd isn't usually the case at a New York menswear show.) And as the first look walked out, a man to my right said out loud...

The British Medical Association has said pregnant women should not be called "expectant mothers" as it could offend transgender people. Instead, they should call them "pregnant people" so as not to upset intersex and transgender men, the union has said.

In the weeks approaching the Women's March on Washington, a woman in Los Angeles accidentally created what became the most popular accessory among protesters: a pussy hat. "I wanted to do something more than just show up," Krista Suh told the Los Angeles Times. "How can I visually show someone what's going on? And I realized as a California girl, I would be really cold in D.C. - it's not tank-top weather year-round. So I thought maybe I could knit myself a hat." Suh made the knitting pattern freely available online, and soon women across the country were working quickly...

The NCAA has now joined the NBA and other organizations pulling its official events out of the state of North Carolina due to concern over the state's House Bill 2. Emphasizing an "inclusive atmosphere for all college athletes, coaches, administrators and fans," the NCAA announced it would be pulling seven championships from the state, including a site for the 2017 NCAA Tournament. "Fairness is about more than the opportunity to participate in college sports, or even compete for championships," said Mark Emmert, NCAA president said in a statement. "We believe in providing a safe and respectful environment at our events...

The NCAA on Friday said cities looking to host future championship games must submit details by Aug. 12 about how they will protect participants from discrimination, a move that could hurt North Carolina's chances of landing future games. The announcement came one day after the NBA said it was moving the 2017 All-Star Weekend from Charlotte over a controversial North Carolina law known as House Bill 2. Cities that have already been awarded games will face a separate questionnaire deadline, which will be determined later, the NCAA said. [Snip] Cities bidding for games now must complete a questionnaire from the...

Gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals reported more health problems than straight men and women, in a large U.S. survey. For the first time since its launch in 1957, the National Health Interview Survey in 2013 and 2014 included a question about sexual orientation. With nearly 69,000 participants, the survey revealed that lesbian, gay and bisexual adults "were more likely to report impaired physical and mental health, heavy alcohol consumption, and heavy cigarette use, potentially due to the stressors that (they) experience as a result of interpersonal and structural discrimination," researchers wrote online June 28 in JAMA Internal Medicine. The taxpayer funded University of Arizona will become the first university in America to offer a transgender studies program. The program is set to launch by fall of 2017, and will grant master’s degrees. The school's program will focus on sex, gender, cultural issues, political issues, and the life experiences of transgender people. This new program will be the result of the university’s Transgender Studies Initiative, introduced in 2013. The school has also hired three new professors to teach in the program, and plans to hire a fourth. "The three people who had been hired were all white, and we...

Barack Obama used his annual Father's Day proclamation to praise transgender “dads,” saying that all “men,” regardless of “gender identity,” play an important role in teaching children “the values that matter most.” “Dads play vital roles in our lives,” the annual proclamation, released last Friday, began. “From single fathers who struggle to make ends meet to surrogates who step up to be there for America's daughters and sons, these men help shoulder the greatest obligation that exists – raising the next generation,” Obama wrote. “Regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status; whether biological, foster, or adoptive; fathers teach...

Do the rights of boys who identify as girls trump the rights of girls who are born girls? That question is at the heart of a lawsuit filed by dozens of Illinois parents after the Obama administration’s Department of Education strong-armed their school district into allowing a transgender student the right to use all girls’ locker rooms. “The girls are mortified,” said Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Jeremy Tedesco, a religious liberty law firm representing some 50 families. “They are in a constant state of fear that their bodies are going to be exposed to a male in these settings. It’s...
