OTTAWA -- A former member of U.S. President Donald Trump's COVID-19 task force says the president was warned "very early on" about the severity of the virus but still went "out of his way" to "undermine" efforts against it. "The president was told very early on that this virus would be worse than the flu," said Olivia Troye, former aide to Vice President Mike Pence, in an interview with CTV Question Period Host Evan Solomon airing Sunday. "He specifically said, 'Is this worse than the flu?' He was told, 'Yes, it absolutely is. It spreads a lot faster, and it...

A fugitive Chinese billionaire who has previously met with U.S. President Donald Trump's former senior counselor Steve Bannon said internal weakness in the Chinese Communist Party raises concerns about its long-term stability. Guo Wengui, who lives in New York and has pledged to expose political corruption in China, said he has privately met with Chinese Communist Party officials who voice doubts about the future, Taiwan's Liberty Times reported Monday. Guo, who made his fortune in Chinese real estate before fleeing the country, said one "senior member" is skeptical the annual Beidaihe summit will take place next year, citing political upheaval...

A group of Chinese virologists released a strange new paper on Monday that claims the new coronavirus was engineered in a Chinese lab. One of the virologists, Li-Meng Yan, told the Fox News host Tucker Carlson it was a "man-made virus" that the Chinese government released "intentionally." Yan and her coauthors work for groups cofounded by the former Trump strategist Steve Bannon. He directed the groups before his arrest in August. Some members of the Trump administration have pushed a fringe theory that the virus accidentally leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, but there's no evidence of this.

On August 3rd The National Pulse published an article which explained an impending attempt to delegitimize the election coming from the far left and their corporate backers. George Soros, the Berggruen Institute, the Gates Foundation and a handful of NeverTrump operatives within the Republican Party created a front group called the Transition Integrity Project. They claim they are non-partisan or bipartisan – they use those words interchangeably though they actually mean different things – and that their raison d’etre is that Trump will try to steal the election. The group is linked with the Chinese Communist Party, too. This group...

On August 20th, President Trump’s former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon was arrested on fraud charges relating to the “We Build the Wall” construction project on the U.S.-Mexico border. The news made for splashy headlines, but story behind the charges was more mundane. Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee veteran and Purple Heart recipient, used a crowdfunding website as part of a political gag aimed at raising $1 billion dollars to construct a U.S.-Mexico border wall. After unexpectedly raising $17 million dollars within the first week, Kolfage decided to hand off the suddenly real and ambitious initiative to someone with more experience,...

The truly radical and occasionally anti-American voices in the Democratic Party have been on full display during this week's Democratic National Convention, though not in the sight of most of the viewing public, Tucker Carlson said Wednesday. "You might not know this, but most of the actual convention events take place during daytime hours," the "Tucker Carlson Tonight" host explained. "The networks don't cover them. You have no idea they ever happen. There's a reason for that, obviously, but what a loss for the viewing public." At one event, Pastor Frederick Haynes III of Texas castigated President Trump and his...

WASHINGTON — A former F.B.I. lawyer intends to plead guilty after he was charged with falsifying a document as part of a deal with prosecutors conducting their own criminal inquiry of the Russia investigation, according his lawyer and court documents made public on Friday. The lawyer, Kevin Clinesmith, 38, who was assigned to the Russia investigation, plans to admit that he altered an email from the C.I.A. that investigators relied on to seek renewed court permission in 2017 for a secret wiretap on the former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, who had at times provided information to the spy agency....

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she has suggested to Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez that the party hold its nominating convention in a large stadium that would allow for social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to take place in Milwaukee, Wis., Aug. 17-20. But the health emergency the country is facing has caused uncertainty over how conventions can safely take place. Pelosi said finding a space that would allow individuals to remain six feet apart and potentially shortening the length of the event could be an option. "When I was a girl, I...

While it has a face only an astrogeologist could love, that rubble could be as old as the solar system itself. Bennu is also number two on the Palermo Technical Impact Hazard scale, meaning there’s a (slight) chance it could impact Earth very violently in around 150 years. And now, Bennu has the distinction of being the subject of the highest resolution mosaic ever made of any planetary body. The image was collected by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft between March 7th and April 19th, 2019. At the time, it was about 2 to 3 miles from the surface of the 1,600...

Stuck rationing toilet paper because you didn't stockpile during the coronavirus panic over the last few days? Don't worry, according to supply chain experts. "All the grocery stores are going to have pallets of toilet paper sitting in the aisles and nobody is going to buy it because who needs to buy toilet paper when you got a year's worth sitting in your garage," Daniel Stanton, a supply chain expert and author of "Supply Chain Management for Dummies," tells CNBC Make It. But what about food? Even if the COVID-19 pandemic stretches over months (President Donald Trump said it could...
