New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman said Monday on CNN’s “The Source” that former President Donald Trump gave her a “pretty specific stare” in court after she reported that the former president fell asleep during his New York trial. Partial transcript as follows: KAITLAN COLLINS: Was he reading along the questionnaire? HABERMAN: He was because the way it would work is the jurors, who were asked questions, are asked to answer the questionnaire, were seated in the jury box. And then, they would just go down with the answers without saying what the question was, in the interest of time,...

Katie Couric said resentfulness stemming from globalization is driving the anti-establishment Trump voter to the voting booth in an interview with Bill Maher on his podcast 'Club Random.' "I think that is a huge problem that we have to address," Couric said. "Globalization and the transition from an industrial to a technological society. I don't know if you've ever been jealous of what someone else has or resentful. It is such a corroding and bitter, almost vile feeling. I think that when people who are really struggling see people who have everything and are on top of that looking down...

Whether the journals of a Nashville school shooter can be released to the public will go before a Tennessee judge on Tuesday after nearly a year of legal wrangling over who can participate in the case. What started as a simple public records request has ballooned into a messy mix of conspiracy theories, leaked documents, probate battles and new legislation as different sides try to gain an advantage. And even though the main issue of which police investigative records can be released has finally made it to a court hearing, any decision by Chancery Court Judge I’Ashea Myles is likely...

The Gateway Pundit reported last month Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) filed a motion to vacate the chair and remove Mike Johnson as House Speaker thanks to his actions over the House Omnibus bill, which will fund the government until September 30. Now, Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News has reported that Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) will co-sponsor MTG’s motion to vacate the chair. What makes Massie’s support significant is the GOP only has a one-vote majority in the House thanks to the selfish early resignations by Kevin McCarthy (RINO-CA), Ken Buck (RINO-CO), and Mike Gallagher (RINO-WI) along with the stupid...

NPR has formally punished Uri Berliner, the senior editor who publicly argued a week ago that the network had "lost America's trust" by approaching news stories with a rigidly progressive mindset. Berliner's five-day suspension without pay, which began last Friday, has not been previously reported. Yet the public radio network is grappling in other ways with the fallout from Berliner's essay for the online news site The Free Press. It angered many of his colleagues, led NPR leaders to announce monthly internal reviews of the network's coverage, and gave fresh ammunition to conservative and partisan Republican critics of NPR, including...

NYC Now has a $4.4 billion shoplifting economy. Theft is so rampant, retailers are forced to make tough choices... Cash takes a serious look at stores starting to flee the big apple. The fall of a once great city. And one shining mall in the city is now completely vacant due in most part to shoplifting and violent crime.

In 1985, Harold Washington issued an executive order that relaxed federal immigration laws under then-President Ronald Reagan, whose administration “aggressively used [the] detention of Central Americans as a device to deter migration from that region, where violent civil wars had caused tens of thousands to flee,” according to University of California Davis law professor Kevin Davis. Since Aug. 31, 2022, Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has bussed or flown to Chicago nearly 40,000 individuals seeking asylum in an effort to use the welcoming aspects of Washington’s executive order as a political cudgel. On April 14, Mayor Johnson called out the...

Over a week after activists chanted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” at a high-profile rally in US’ Michigan, anti-Israel activists raised the same slogan in Farsi at a “break out session” for the Anti-War Committee in Chicago on Saturday. The video of the shocking incident was widely shared on social media, where the organizer of the session, Shabbir Rizvi was seen teaching the “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” slogans in Iran’s native language to participants attending the event. Rizvi told about 80 attendees—- all of whom were wearing black KF94 masks– that they could use the...

Dozens of migrants were caught on camera jumping off a speed boat that came ashore a California beach over the weekend and running into the nearby city in what locals are saying is becoming a regular occurrence. Video posted online shows the speedboat racing towards the shore in Carlsbad on Saturday, narrowly missing a nearby surfer. Almost as soon as it landed, a group of adult migrants were seen jumping off the boat and sprinting towards a row of oceanfront houses.

I just told Mike Johnson in conference that I’m cosponsoring the Motion to Vacate that was introduced by @RepMTG. He should pre-announce his resignation (as Boehner did), so we can pick a new Speaker without ever being without a GOP Speaker.

KEY TAKEAWAYS The European Commission wants to hand Ukraine $300 billion seized from Russia. Doing so likely would sound the death knell for the dollar and eventually the euro. The message from the EU and the Biden administration is crystal clear: Western financial markets are now a dangerous place to park your money. The talk of seizing foreigners’ assets is exposing these dollar-denominated loans as less than safe. Indeed, they’re more of a liability. Confidence in Western financial markets has already been shaken enough by the 20% devaluation of the dollar over the last few years. But now the European...

NPR has suspended Uri Berliner, the senior editor who published a bombshell essay a week ago that claimed that the publicly funded outlet has “lost America’s trust” by approaching news stories with a left-wing bias. NPR media writer David Folkenflik revealed on Tuesday that Berliner beginning on Friday was suspended for five days without pay. Folkenflik, who reviewed a copy of the letter from NPR brass, said that the company told the editor he had failed to secure its approval for outside work for other news outlets — a requirement of NPR journalists. NPR called the letter a “final warning,”...

During radical anti-Israel demonstrations in the heart of New York City, a pro-Palestinian protester waved a burning American flag as fellow activists cheered, while another set a counter-protester’s flag on fire, and yet another chanted “Death to America.” As demonstrators rallied on Monday, one protester publicly set an American flag on fire outside the Brooklyn Borough Hall building in New York City. Every once in a while, a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything. Or so said Steve Jobs when he announced iPhone in 2007.But I’m talking about a different revolutionary product. A foundational product that forever changed how everyone on this planet gets to where they need to be. Today, I’d like to tell you about the Etak Navigator, a truly revolutionary product and the world’s first practical vehicle navigation system. Here’s a picture of it:At the time, it was considered out-of-this-world. This is what Silicon Valley’s San Jose Mercury News said about it:The Etak Navigator launched 39 years (!) ago...

We have the first opinion, from Justice Jackson in Rudisill v. McDonough. 8 The vote is 7-2, with a dissent by Thomas joined by Alito. This is a case about education benefits for veterans and whether the veteran can access benefits under the Post-9/11 Veterans Act without being subject to limits imposed by the Montgomery GI Bill. The Court holds that service members who, through separate periods of service, accrue benefits under both bills, can use either one, in any order, up to a 48-month aggregate cap. Kavanaugh files a concurring opinion that Barrett joins. Decision is here: https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/22-888_1b8e.pdf The...
