White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders didn't hold back when asked about an ESPN host's now-famous anti-Trump Twitter tirade calling the president a white supremacist. SportsCenter co-host Jemele Hill began her tirade by saying, "Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists." A reporter asked Sanders if the president was aware of the comment. "I'm not sure if he's aware [of that comment] but I think that's one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make -- and certainly something that I think is a fireable offense by ESPN," Sanders answered.

'Yeah, it's called a marriage,' she shot back, being awarded with laughs. . . . I am very proud and grateful that I am married to my best friend, that he has been my biggest source of encouragement and support over all the years,' Clinton said. 'Many more than some of you have been alive, that we've been together.'

Owners of fuel-efficient vehicles could pay higher vehicle registration fees than those who own gas guzzlers under a potential change being studied by Missouri state officials. Another idea, he said at the governor’s conference, is imposing tolls on drivers at entrances to the state — as an alternative to tolling much of Interstate 70 in the state as MoDOT has studied in the past. “The whole idea is to capture (fees from) people traveling through our state that use our roads that don’t pay anything” now, Messenger said in an interview. However, McKenna said tolling only at entrances to the...

The race for New York City mayor kicked off in earnest Wednesday, as incumbent Mayor Bill de Blasio, fresh off his Democratic primary victory, traded barbs with Republican opponent Nicole Malliotakis at separate campaign events. De Blasio, who trounced a field of underdog primary rivals Tuesday by collecting 74 percent of the vote, addressed about two dozen supporters at his campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, where he called the upcoming general election a battle “between a progressive Democrat and a pro-Trump Republican.” Malliotakis, a state assemblywoman from Staten Island who voted for Donald Trump in the general election after endorsing Marco...

So the question remains – why, when we have a self-proclaimed pro-life Congress and Administration, are hundreds of millions of government money still going to subsidize the largest abortion provider in the country? At the 2017 March for Life, Vice President Mike Pence said “this Administration will work with Congress to end taxpayer funding of abortion and abortion providers. And we will devote those resources to health care services for women across America.” It is high time that Congress lives up to its promise of defunding the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, and redirecting that money to real choices...

SACRAMENTO, California, September 11, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) -- A federal judge told three Christian congregations in California that they have no case in wanting to opt out of the state’s requirement that they cover abortions through their health insurance plans. U.S. District Court Judge Kimberly Mueller upheld a 2014 requirement of the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) that all employers throughout the state must pay for abortion insurance for their employees. She told the three churches that they failed to state an adequate claim. The churches — Foothill Church in Glendora, Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in Chino, and The...

September 11, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Pope Francis challenged President Trump on his pro-life views in a new interview, questioning whether Trump is actually pro-life because of his immigration stances. Aboard the papal plane on September 10, Pope Francis criticized the U.S. president over his plans to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. DACA allows children of illegal immigrants who were illegally brought into the country to remain and apply for work permits. "I have heard the President of the United States speak," said Pope Francis as translated and reported by the National Catholic Reporter. "He presents himself...

When the world gets crazy, South Park usually makes good sense of it through its satirical wit and no holds barred comedy, and South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have a lot to talk about for their 21st season. And first up on the chopping block is the tiki torch carrying, Confederate flag waving mob seen in Charlotesville according to the trailer for the first episode titled “White People Renovating Houses.” “Protestors armed with tiki torches and confederate flags take to the streets of South Park. Randy comes to grips with what it means to be white in today’s society,” reads the...

The Democratic Missouri lawmaker who said on social media she hoped President Trump would be assassinated was publicly censured by the state's Republican-led Senate Wednesday. "Again, I apologize for the Facebook posting," Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal said in a statement released to local media after the reprimand measure passed the Missouri Senate 28-2. "However, I have made it clear that I will not resign. The voters of my district elected me to represent them. I will work tirelessly for the remainder of my elected term to bring about positive change for my constituents and all Missourians." The same legislative body failed...
  • Australia Gay Marriage Debate Highlights Church Divisions

As Australia prepares for a contentious postal vote on legalising gay marriage, fierce divisions have emerged within the church, with many Christians disregarding traditional religious views as outdated. Although attitudes to same-sex marriage vary across denominations and congregations -- and even between the pulpit and the pews -- many Australians view the church as the greatest source of resistance to such unions. "I think it is really bad news for the church that it is seen as taking this exclusive, judgemental, unloving stance toward a significant part of the Australian community," Reverend Margaret Mayman, minister of the Pitt Street Uniting...

After Dubia Cardinal Carlo Caffarra's death on the first day of the Apostolic Journey to Colombia, Pope Francis let the journalists, who accompanied him, know, that he would not accept any question regarding Caffarra during the press conference in the plane on his way back to Rome. The Italian blog Anonimi della Croce writes, that Francis was afraid of the question why he did not answer the doubts ("dubia") of the four Cardinals concerning his controversial document Amoris Laetitia.

The group has refused to reverse its decision to allow euthanasia in its hospitalsThe Belgian Brothers of Charity have defied the Pope and announced they will continue offering euthanasia at their hospitals despite being ordered to stop. The group said in a statement that it “continues to stand by its vision statement on euthanasia for mental suffering in a non-terminal situation” and that they “emphatically believe” the practice is compatible with Catholic teaching. The group also claimed the decision had “come about starting from the Christian frame of thought” and that they “always take into account the shifts and evolutions...

Father George Woodall warns against calling into question the Church’s ban on artificial contraception as some senior Church leaders look to soften the teaching of the encyclical which turns 50 next year.Any papal decision that calls into question the Church’s ban on artificial contraception either expressly or implicitly would do “untold damage to the Church’s magisterium,” a moral theologian has warned. Father George Woodall, who teaches moral theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, also said he was concerned that a commission tasked with examining the process of writing Blessed Paul VI’s encyclical Humanae vitae would provoke “serious...

Swiss officials must now look over the signatures to ensure they are all genuine and, if everything is found to be in order, the country will be given a chance to vote. The issue has been argued over in Swiss society for many years, with the senate rejecting a draft bill on the topic in March after the lower house gave it approval.

When archaeologists said 7 women and a youth found in caves were slain by Romans during the Great Revolt, settlers secretly stepped in to illegally pay their last respects It was a secret, illegal burial, planned and carried out by a Jewish Temple Mount activist who decades ago sat in jail for planning to blow up the Dome of the Rock. But the story of the seven women and one youth who were buried in the Jewish settlement of Ofra on February 6, 2017, is even more dramatic. In the course of an archaeological dig in a cave complex at...

RUSH: There is a story today in The Politico. “Teflon Don Confounds Democrats — Democrats have attacked the president every which way, but polling and focus groups show none of it’s working.” None of it! In addition, Rasmussen has just come out with a poll. I printed it out here (shuffling paper) and guess what? A majority, most voters… Not Trump supporters; they’re in this, but this is a sample of most voters. “Most Voters Welcome Trump’s Outreach to Congressional Democrats.” Now, the conventional wisdom is that Trump’s hurting himself, that Trump’s base, who are they? If you believe the...
