Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Does a baby know and understand the law?
Then it can not sin, because with out the knowledge of what sin is, its not imputed as sin.
JH :-)
How's that?
Apart from the grammatical painfulness? Pretty good. :)
It's a bit like "he that does not work, let him not eat". It doesn't mean Paul wanted to starve quadriplegics or infants.
Not exactly. I suspect that Paul meant the same thing David meant (big surprise?). Which was certainly not "each and every single person is only unrighteous". I might say "no one can assume they are righteous because they are jewish, or because they are circumcised or perform certain other rituals."
You think that's bad?
Someday I'll send you a post without running it through the spell checker first. LOl
I began to think that "Sentence too long" and "No suggestions" and Grammatically incorrect " were permanent tag lines.

Can you imagine the "sola scriptura" Bereans rejecting the Gospel of Matthew cause it distorts the Hebrew Bible?
Thanks. Although I must say I had hoped my thoughts might occassion at least a bit of commentary from the Protestant side. I mean, here we have an example where if, a)as Protestants urge, we are to test theology against literal scripture as they argue the Bereans did and b) the Bereans were to use the scripture Protestants argue is the proper scripture to use (i.e., the 'purer' Palestinian canon) then we are left with the inescapable conclusion that c) the good Bereans from whom they draw their example would be forced to reject the gospel of Matthew.
Yet no one seems interested in this topic.
Further, no Protestant has yet addressed my invitation to consider Havoc's rather (at least to me) novel proposition that John the Baptist was Elijah literally reincarnated. Havoc assures us he only uses God's Word and is guided in his reading of God's Word solely by the Holy Spirit -in other words, that he is the archetypical Protestant. Using this method, he has determined that John the Baptist is Elijah in a 'new body.' Frankly, I find the silence of Protestants on this point somewhat surprising. All I would like to know is if they agree with Havoc.
You can't equate this Reggie. First of all you would need to have some kind of way to count who has Bibles and then you would have to determine who reads them. Having a big one on your coffee table that no one ever opens wouldn't count. We can't hid our heads in the sand though. America does have a problem, regardless of how much or how little other countries do, don't you think?
Are you "divine" Dave? Does the HS dwell within you?
Huh? Where did this come from?
You are asking the wrong person. I raised boys. lol. Little girl clothes are so cute though. I am always buying stuff and sending them to Sarah (my 2 y/o GD in fl.). When I go visit we have a fashion show. Her mom and I ooh and aw but she doesn't seem too care to much for modeling. She would rather run around naked!
You can confess to us. Your secrets safe here! :')
Yeah but I have a direct number to His private line. While you were going thru your saints, if I remember correctly, my plea went something like "Oh please, God. Not again. I'm gonna be in so much trouble. :')
Well, I know you weren't asking me but getting your head cut off ought to do it,don't you think? :')
Well, sometimes it does seem to me that you place the mother above the Son. You talk about her a lot, you know.
It is not I or any Cahtolic who brings up "divinity" or "part of the Trinity" when mentioning Mary being without sin. So it must be you.
Yep. It was me. I get my ideas from the material you post to me.lol
I have already done so, but you reject the interpretations given. All of which is a red herring.
Stop blowing smoke.
Keep reading. I did ask you. Can I assume, then, you are another vote for the John the Baptist is Elijah reincarnated camp?
It is really quite simple. If I discovered she remained a virgin, it would be "hmm, I really misinterpreted that "knew her" verse but it wouldn't affect my faith at all . God tells us in the Bible that everything isn't reveiled to us. You just have to trust Him.
Can, I bring my friend, "Jesus" with me? Looks like I might be diluted but he's the real thing. Tell you what. Become a Jew for Jesus and I'll think about it,ok? Anyway, you know He isn't going to give you any peace until you do, don't you?
Sometimes it takes me awhile to find scripture I am looking for too. I could use the cheat sheet but I retain more when I have to search. I would much rather talk with someone who is searching in the Bible than some puffed up, know it all Bible scholar that trys to talk down to me.
Ah, Steven, you want to interpret for me? This Biblical? :') No offense Mr. XeniaSt but I don't want to go from the pan to the fire :')
But does he know Christ said it? I am a Christian and several years ago I heard this and my first response was "no way". I had to look it up for myself. I can't speak for everyone but I got saved and then started my spiritual growth, studying the Bible. He says he's reading. Just a friendly suggestion but you might want to cut him some slack.
