The projection coming from RC’s is like a democratic convention screaming about “White Rage” and “Lynchings”.

As a former RC (yes proudly former), I can say the unscriptural nonsense spewing from a “Perpetual Virgin Mary” to “Purgatory” are just two teeny examples of what happens when you mix sorcery, paganism, and theology together.

The Rapture, is Scriptural by the way:

John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Show me in Scripture where Mary ascends to “heaven” before death.

Show me in Scripture where Purgatory is declared by The Lord.

Crickets....I hear them.

Show me in Scripture where it says that everything a Christian needs to believe is found in Scripture. Surely such a foundational doctrine would be explicitly found there. Don't bother with 2 Timothy 3:16 because it only says that Scripture is "useful" or "profitable," not sufficient.

I'll wait right here for that Scripture text.

If not Purgatory, where did all those who died go between the time of Adam and when Christ opened the gates of Heaven?

The holy people who came to life at the death of Christ, where had they been?

Matthew 27:50-53
50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
52 The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

And you won’t find: people praying to Mary or any admonition to do so; no appeals to her for salvation; no exclusion for her being sinless, no pledge of virginity.

What Rome teaches and validates about Mary on so many issues contradicts Scripture.

It’s right next to the words “Incarnation” and “Trinity”.

Both words are nowhere in the Bible, but real Christians still believe them.

The faith doesn’t need everything spelled out in extreme detail in the Bible to be taught. That’s Protestant tradition.

2 Kings 2:
  1. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
  2. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

Matthew 11:
  1. And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
  2. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
  3. But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
  4. And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

Matthew 27:
  1. Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
  2. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
  3. And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
  4. And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Luke 12:
  1. Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
  2. And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
  3. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
  4. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
  5. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
  6. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
  7. Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
  8. And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
  9. Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
  10. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
  11. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
  12. The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
  13. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
  14. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
