They knew crashing a capitalist economy to the point of revolution would be extremely difficult. In lieu of that, they took over industry and institution. They magnify differences in the multi cultural society, pitting neighbor vs neighbor. We are here now.
Sorry but for true unity there must be consensus of commonly held core values. Perhaps someone can list the commonly held values that unite Americans that supersede the obvious divisions.
