Dear MERCIFUL FATHER, HOLY GOD, how we thank You for Your compassions and lovingkindness toward us all. Thank YOU for Your GRACE that extends it’s power into the depths of a wicked and deceitful heart, and draws us into the need for Mercy. Thank YOU, that YOU would take these evil hearts and transform them into clean vessels. Thank You for Your HOLY WORD that instructs sinners in the way they should go. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Prov. 9-10) I think of the verse in the song Amazing Grace - 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear. The hour I first believed! – and I thank YOU, Dear GOD, for Your GRACE that caused our hearts to know the Fear of the LORD, and then to sing and rejoice, as we trust in YOU to create in us a clean heart and restore a right spirit within us.
YES, in HIM our hearts rejoice, because we trust in YOUR HOLY NAME. So we can confidently sing Your Praise as we encourage ourselves in YOUR HOLY WORD: God's peace, which goes far beyond our understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus . . . You will keep him in peace, in peace whose thoughts are fixed on you, because he trusts in you. (Phil. 4:7; Isa. 26:3)
Now, Dear LORD, we turn in prayer for the “heart” of our Nation. Oh that our Nation would give its heart back to YOU and fix its eyes on Your ways. The sad and unfortunate reality is that now we have a generation who are brought up in deceitful ways, with no cure apart from the Grace and Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Power of it to change lives. Each day that passes by, devoid of the Grace of GOD, the heart becomes colder and harder, so we pray for our children and our children’s children, living in a world apart from YOU. We Pray: Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish those in right standing with You; For the Righteous God tries the hearts and minds. Please LORD, raise up and secure leaders to bring our Nation back; raise up and secure Pastors, who will not compromise TRUTH, and bring many back to the need of repentance and the forgiveness of sins; Please, rekindle the hearts of our young parents who may have walked away for their Christian upbringing, neglecting the teaching for Your Word to their children; and please, lest we think because we are praying for others, we are not in need ourselves, so we pray: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Ps. 139:23-24) In JESUS NAME, AMEN.
