Most Christians assume that Sunday is the biblically approved day of worship. The Roman catholic church protests that it transferred Christian worship from the biblical Sabbath (Saturday) to Sunday, and that to try to argue that the change was made in the Bible is both dishonest and a denial of Catholic authority. If Protestantism wants to base its teachings only on the Bible, it should worship on Saturday.

**** His disciples in Jerusalem would have not continued to keep the Lord’s day - the Sabbath, AFTER Christ’s resurrection,****
That is because their commission was to the Jews, then Samaritans then to the utter most parts of the earth. Yet years later we still see them in Judea “preaching to none but the Jews only.”
God chose his worst enemy on earth, Saul(Paul) to become his chosen vessel to the Gentiles.
When he went to the Temple after his conversion, the Lord appeared to him and said “get the out of the city for they will not regard thy testimony concerning me!”
When certain believers came from Jerusalem preaching “Ye must be circumcised in the manner of Moses Paul withstood them and even went to Jerusalem to win Liberty for the Gentile believers.
Those at Jerusalem agreed and gave him and Barnabas “The right hand of fellowship that they(James, Peter and John.) would go to the circumcision and WE to the heathern. This is also the subject of Galatians in which Gentile believers were imposed on by those from Jerusalem demanding subjection to THE LAW.
And when Peter went to Antioch he separated himself from the gentile believers when certain men from James suddenly showed up. So even associating with gentile believers was not looked upon favorably even at that time, though years earlier Peter went to Cornelius and later had to defend himself for meeting with one uncircumcised.
So at that time there were two churches. One specifically to the Jews continuing in the Law and rules and St Paul to the Gentiles preaching Liberty from those laws and rules.
Proof of this can be seen on St Paul’s last trip to Jerusalem in which James said...Acts 21
James; and all the elders were present.
19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him(Paul), Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

So you can see those at Jerusalem were still offering sacrifices in the Temple, and in Acts 6, they mention a large number of priests that believed.
***I believe Seventh day Adventist are correct on all of their theology. Judgement, death, 2nd coming, Sabbath....even diet.***
IMPOSSIBLE! Even the Lord said those who offered sacrifices in the Temple were required to eat of those sacrifices.
As far back as Noah God established that all meats were to be eaten of, and I don’t believe Abel kept sheep just as a hobby and clothing!
Well done! As usual.
All the Jews that I know worship on Saturday.
And they seem to follow a different calendar.
(Today is the 25th of Sivan, 5783 according to the Jewish calendar.)
What year do you live in, and why do most Christians worship on our current Sunday, but Jews on our current Saturday? Is that not a man-made determination?
The Jews introduced us to our One God, so this conversation should include their reckoning.

You replied: >>>IMPOSSIBLE! Even the Lord said those who offered sacrifices in the Temple were required to eat of those sacrifices.

Uh, this should help you. God gave Noah permission to eat meat because uh.....yeah, the flood had killed all the vegetation. Duh.....We don’t read anywhere where anyone is eating flesh foods before Noah. Nowhere. God’s Edenic diet is perfect. By the way, Adam lived over 900 years. And those people hundreds of years...healthy meat free God’s original diet can help you live longer as you’ll see below. (see link)
Israel murmured for the fleshpots of Egypt too. The bread from Heaven wasn’t good enough so God relented and said ok....you want meat, ok you got meat. Then diseases came too.
As for the sacrifices, uh, yeah, I wouldn’t use the sacrifices that were part of the temple service, to point to the greatest sacrifice, to Jesus, I wouldn’t use this God ordained religious service to show us the type that was to come....Jesus the anti type.......yeah, I wouldn’t use that religious service with a meaning behind it so significant, even the angels are interested....
Yeah, I wouldn’t use that as an all you can eat sort of Denny’s Grand slam Menu. You people are something else.....LOL! Using the temple service as a guide to dinner. Funny.....
Here’s what God’s original diet and the Sabbath can do for you:

***Nothing Yeshua did or said negated, nullified or changed any of the Ten Commandments.****
So, Jeremiah 31:31 is not valid even though this is what St Paul preached?
“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
And in Hebrews 8 he states...
13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.”
Carry on what is said in Hebrews 9.
Then 2 Corinthians 3:
Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
11For if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which endures!…
And here..
[2] Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: [3] For as much as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Yet you hold to those old laws that were shattered at Sinai and had to be rewritten and placed in a Ossuary called the Ark of the Covenant showing the law had been killed at Sinai. Yes, the Ark (coffin) was a bone box just like the Jews used in the olden days to hold the bones of the dead.
The Law wasn’t fulfilled until His death and resurrection.
To see how the Early Church observed the Sabbath, see Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2.
Read that and postulate what it means. I won’t argue which day is too be observed, as long as a day is set aside for Him... be it Saturday as the Law prescribed, or Sunday (the first day of the week) as the leaders (including Paul) observed.
The thing about keeping the Sabbath that’s a complication is that unless someone, somewhere during the course of human history kept meticulous tract of week long intervals, from the moment of creation onward, including all the time Adam and Eve were in the garden before they fell, how is anyone sure that the day that they claim is the Sabbath, the day we have marked on the calendar as Saturday, is really the seventh day.
If the calendar was not kept meticulously, it is entirely plausible that people lost count and have no idea whether what we call Saturday isn’t really the 2nd day, or 5th day, or whatever.
They really have only 1:7 chance of hitting the correct day.
:)
***The calendar could change again tomorrow,***
True it could. In the olden days there was the Egyptian calendar, Babylonian calendar, Greek calendar, Hebrew calendar, early Roman calendar later changed by Julius Caesar, various Canannite calendars, even the calendar of St Dennis is in error and now the Gregorian calendar with ten days removed to change it from Julian to Gregorian. That was 10 days removed, not seven (7). That really messes up the days.
250 posts and our alter Boy should be satisfied with THIS!
My goal is Thank God EVERYDAY!
I don’t regard one day over the next.
.
By the way the doctor says I’ll play the piano again!
I love Chopsticks!
;)
Nothing there to infer the transference of the sanctity of the Sabbath to Sunday. Paul preached on Sunday. So what? I imagine he’d preach any time he had an opportunity. I can show you in the Bible where it says to keep the seventh day of the week holy. Where is the command to keep the first day of the week holy? Something written in stone would be nice too.
Yup, worship God in spirit and truth every day.
Apparently God does.

And I thank God every day for the Bible to read and study and find out the differences between ceremonial sabbaths and the 7th day Sabbath, made holy at creation, and written by God himself into the tablets of Stone.
Must be a bummer not to be able to say you believe in the Ten Commandments as written by God. That sucks....LOL
Nothing wrong with that.
Like I said, I don’t think Abel raised sheep for a hobby or just wool.
He sacrificed his animals and his sacrifice was accepted while vegetarian Cain’s sacrifices were rejected.
I would also believe Abel probably ate of the same sacrifices he offered even though it does not say so.
