ELCA presiding bishop issues pastoral message on Roe v. Wade ruling June 24, 2022
Elizabeth A. Eaton, presiding bishop of the ELCA, has issued a pastoral message on the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding Roe v. Wade. “Whatever personal perspective one might take on the June 24 abortion ruling from the Supreme Court, it is the legal framework in which we now minister,” Eaton said in the message. “This church’s 1991 social statement Abortion argues that ‘the number of induced abortions is a source of deep concern’ but teaches that the practice should be legal (pp. 3, 9-10). … Overturning Roe v. Wade and placing decisions about abortion regulation at the state level encumbers and endangers the lives of all persons who need to make decisions about unexpected pregnancies.”

Yeah when you have a woman leading your congregation, that sure does fly in the face of Biblical teachings.
I’ll add that the ELCA is run by satanists who despise the Real Jesus. They invented the one they claim to worship.
Man, I hope so. Time to look for allies in other denominations.
giggle, snicker
A female “presiding bishop” says this stuff? My Bible says that an elder (and that would include bishops) must be the husband of but one wife.
So this fraud is obviously a total fraud. Why do denominations put up with this?
Seems like the “falling away” is in full swing. And seems like true believers in Jesus Christ and His Gospel are being told “go away, we don’t want you here”.

While saying that the leadership are satanists who despise Jesus seems a bit harsh and hyperbolic, sadly I’ve had conversations with ELCA Lutherans who give credence to your statement. They definitely need a clearwater revival.
ELCA, sure. LCMS or Wisconsin Synod, no.
I’ve met a few and they have utter hatred for the Triune God.
Their stances on abortion, sodomy, homosexuality, and transgenderism shows who’s side they are on.
Absolutely shocking...I had no idea..
Tell us you love abortion without telling us you love for abortion.
They need to fire her!
Or vomit!
The finger of God in the form of a tornado that struck Central Lutheran Church in 2009 as ELCAs Assembly voted to ordain homosexuals should have left no doubt in the minds of the faithful as to the apostasy of this denomination. Anyone left after that clear sign has made the wrong choice.
Or they could just read a Bible and compare what is clearly said in it to what is coming at them from their pulpits.
Maybe time for Lutherans to rethink their support of murdering babies?
Yet another “Nine Suggestions” church.
The ELCA left me long ago…thank you, Jesus, for opening my eyes! Sadly, I tried to show my mother the truth about it, but she passed away at 90, still being a proud member. I think her problem was time- she was a lifelong member. It can be hard to leave and start over in a new church, especially for her in her later years. I’m so happy my husband and our kids broke out of that circus!
I grew up in the Missouri synod. After I moved away they changed to Evangelical. My parents left the church at that time. Unfortunately they joined the local UCC which was almost as bad.
When a "church" becomes a religious arm of a political party or movement, they are no longer a church, but a controlling and manipulating organ of the state. ELCA is no different than the Russian Orthodox church or Iran's Ja’afari Shia, where political leaders determine church dogma, and that is pushed to the masses as if divine doctrine. As if killing the unborn and sexually grooming the young is somehow divine.
Have some milk with your toast, Bishop.
True! However when a "denomination's" doctrine becomes heretical, it's no longer Christ's church and it's time for true Believers to leave.
Makes me glad I left the ELCA over one year ago. Never again.
