Marjorie Taylor Greene: I Was Raised Catholic, but Wicked Bishops Have ‘Driven Me Away’ from the Church

‘Mrs. Greene's statement about leaving the Church is as enlightening as it is saddening,’ commented Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute.

(LifeSiteNews) – Following criticism of comments she made about the U.S. Catholic bishops, conservative firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that she was raised Catholic but left the Church “with great sorrow” when she had kids because she had concerns about the left-wing hierarchy protecting abusive priests.

“With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church’s leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks,” the now-evangelical said in a lengthy statement.

The Georgia Republican was responding to the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, who slammed her for suggesting in an interview with Church Militant’s Michael Voris that “Satan is controlling the Church.”

“The Church is not doing its job. And it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ,” she added.

“It’s the Church leadership I was referring to when I invoked the Devil,” Greene clarified on Twitter. “Just so we’re clear, bishops, when I said ‘controlled by Satan,’ I wasn’t talking about the Catholic Church. I was talking about you.”

“The Catholic Church must throw out these monsters instead of lecturing the people its own bishops have driven away,” she continued, blasting the U.S. Catholic bishops as “some of the worst in the world” and “scheming bureaucrats in miters.” It was the “bishops’ wickedness” that drove her out of the Church, Greene said, and her own refusal to “submit the spiritual and physical livelihood of my children to these monsters.”

Greene, who is sometimes referred to as “MTG” (à la “AOC”), went on to say what many faithful Catholics who.......

I wish I knew what your point was.

This is a good line.

Can I use it to avoid responding intelligently to others' requests for clarity?

Says he doesn’t know the number of times that he can sin, repent, ask forgiveness, and then repeat it all over again before he’s no longer saved. Apparently, it’s endless for him but not for others.

But you said, and I quote,

“The 7th-day-Sabbath is INDEPENDENT of any calendar.

The weekly 7 day cycle is INDEPENDENT of any calendar.”

I say the Sabbath is Sunday. Are you going to enslave me to your calendar now and just lie that it’s ‘independent’?

Or was the independence you claimed a lie?

Either way, you’re a lying lawbreaker. Shame on you.

I say my 1 is Monday, my 6 is Saturday and my Sabbath is Sunday, as the ancient Essenes believed.

Did you lie to me when you claimed the 7th day was independent of any calendar, you lawless hypocrite?

I got worse news for ya, Lu!

Phil says he doesn’t know how many times he can sin, repent, ask forgiveness, and then commit the same sin over and over, etc.

It’s looking like Phil believes in OSAS for himself but not for others since HE has no cutoff line for sinning and yet keeps HIS salvation. Funny how that works. You tell me, does that sound kind of OSASish (for Phil only, of course) to you?

It certainly does. That or Phil is just a lying lawless hypocrite who’s ashamed that he makes himself look like a fool every time he opens his mouth and takes it out on us.

“That or Phil is just a lying lawless hypocrite ...”

He sure isn’t going to admit OSAS is true because of his pride, so your second assessment will end up being true ... again.

The question I have asked in the past and never gotten a decent answer to, is how do the Sabbath keepers know that the one day in seven they are resting on is actually the same 7th day as God rested on?

I find it hard to believe that someone kept track of Sabbaths that accurately for 6,000 plus years what with the slavery in Egypt, the deportation to Babylon, all the wars and upheaval of the last 2,000 years.

What if they are thinking they are keeping God’s Sabbath and it’s really the 5th day He worked? That would mean they were actually working on the day God rested and made sacred.

Ooops.....

God does not force anyone to keep His law. Christians keep it out of love to Him, for what He did for them on the cross. God will respect your decision to unrepentantly commit LAWLESSNESS in breaking His law. But, that comes with the penalty of DEATH. You’ve made your choice. Fare-the-well, hater of God’s law, and especially his 7th-day-Sabbath.

Ah, I’m just messing with you.

Not.

Did Jesus know what day the Sabbath was on when he was on earth? He should. He made it. It was His day.

Do the Catholics know what day is the first day of the week, Sunday? Of course they do.

“Inquiries made in 1932 to the United States Naval Observatory, in Washington D.C., and the Royal Greenwich Observatory in London, England, have also confirmed that the weekly cycle of 7 days as observed today has not been altered, and remains as it has been since before the time of Christ.”

“So both history and the Bible make it quite clear that Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is indeed the seventh day, which has been kept by the Jews for millennia, even to the present day. The true seventh-day sabbath of God has not been lost. Our Saturday is the same day of the week today as the seventh-day sabbath of creation.”

From an article entitled “Sunday is not the Sabbath” by Michael Schieffler.

That’s a lot of words spent to avoid answering my question.

So you claimed that the Sabbath is independent of any calendar and then less than 24 hours later, you demand I use your calendar to determine the Sabbath.

You lying lawless hypocrite. You will join your father in eternal damnation.

And you know it was the same day Jesus used how?

Especially when you’re using the Gregorian calendar that’s already been shown to be in error.

You’re still a lawless hypocrite who will join your father in Hell.

Hold up, Lu. You did it wrong.

You have to put “lawless” in all caps or it doesn’t count with Phil.

Like this:

“You lying LAWLESS hypocrite. You will join your father in eternal damnation.”

I say the Sabbath is Sunday.

Actually the Sabbath is on Saturday. That is one argument the Seventh Day Adventist got right. Sabbath means seventh. We now celebrate the resurrection on the first day of a new week, the eighth day. Christ brings in a new Day.

I respect your statememt and think it has merit.

I’m using the language I am with Phil because I am showcasing his self-contradictory statements.
