‘Mrs. Greene's statement about leaving the Church is as enlightening as it is saddening,’ commented Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute.
(LifeSiteNews) – Following criticism of comments she made about the U.S. Catholic bishops, conservative firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that she was raised Catholic but left the Church “with great sorrow” when she had kids because she had concerns about the left-wing hierarchy protecting abusive priests.
“With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church’s leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks,” the now-evangelical said in a lengthy statement.
The Georgia Republican was responding to the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, who slammed her for suggesting in an interview with Church Militant’s Michael Voris that “Satan is controlling the Church.”
“The Church is not doing its job. And it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ,” she added.
“It’s the Church leadership I was referring to when I invoked the Devil,” Greene clarified on Twitter. “Just so we’re clear, bishops, when I said ‘controlled by Satan,’ I wasn’t talking about the Catholic Church. I was talking about you.”
“The Catholic Church must throw out these monsters instead of lecturing the people its own bishops have driven away,” she continued, blasting the U.S. Catholic bishops as “some of the worst in the world” and “scheming bureaucrats in miters.” It was the “bishops’ wickedness” that drove her out of the Church, Greene said, and her own refusal to “submit the spiritual and physical livelihood of my children to these monsters.”
Greene, who is sometimes referred to as “MTG” (à la “AOC”), went on to say what many faithful Catholics who.......

“The blasphemy in the Investigative Judgment is the assigning of the scapegoat principle. ... [Jesus] was right at that moment bearing the sins of the whole world ... that truth is accounted for those who believe in Whom God sent for our redemption.”
“The SDA cult teaching declares that satan is the ultimate scapegoat, not Jesus. ... My sinfulness has been taken out of the way by the atoning power of the Christ, provided by God on my behalf and that of every believer since Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost.”
“The SDA cult makes satan the ultimate atonement.”
“Cults hate that truth.”
Your post is so great that it was very hard to pick out the best parts.
As I listened to the video that Mark posted before leaving us today, I learned that it’s the fear of the “Investigative Judgment” that keeps haunting them day and night. Just how a cult would do, yeah? That’s just how they roll: “We have the REAL truth and everyone else is going to Hell. You will too if you don’t obey every one of our rules.”
Keep ‘em scared and away from God’s word. The preacher in the video did an excellent job, and I was really stunned by what he taught about the SDA as a former member. I praise God that he and his family are out of the cult today.
May God bring them all out and to His salvation, peace, love and joy.
Again, excellent post, MHG.
It’s similar to the Catholic cult. I was haunted, day and night by hell fire 🔥 Most of the Catholics I knew, at least outwardly, seemed less than concerned about Hell and eternity. I was not one of those. I was in constant fear of Hell. Maybe that’s why I jumped at the truth, when it was presented to me. 😀🥓🍳
One more point along the line of what you said about cults. Now, with cults like Mormonism, JWs, Quiboloy, Iglesia ni Cristo, are so far out, they are not even close. With SDA, they are much closer to the truth than the others. There is, however, just enough truth to float the poison.
I want to know, what motivates them? Is it a money making operation? I don’t know.
“I want to know, what motivates them? Is it a money making operation? I don’t know.”
There is certainly money for the people at the top of the pyramid. As for the regular congregation, I believe they are motivated by fear. Fear almost always works, and if you believe you’re going to hell if you believe other than what the SADders tell you to believe, the fear would cause you to do a lot of things. I’d bet they receive loads in tithes.
I bet they do. My guess would be, the hard core leadership, are not deceived. They know exactly what they are doing. I wonder if the RCC hemorrhages people, the way the SDA does? It’s a pernicious cult.
“My guess would be, the hard core leadership, are not deceived. They know exactly what they are doing.”
Hmm. I think I would tend to agree absolutely with your statements, Mark. They’ve had many, many years of practice to discover what does or does not work to bring in the dollars. If I remember correctly, they DO go by the instructions that God gave to Israel concerning tithing. (Please correct me if I’m wrong on that point, Phil.)
They might do that, but the people probably give out of fear. It doesn’t matter what the cults may have right, if their plan of salvation comes from the pit of hell, and the SDA plan, comes from there.
Yeah, I would tend to agree that they give out of fear. Their poor lives are filled with fear.
“It doesn’t matter what the cults may have right, if their plan of salvation comes from the pit of hell, and the SDA plan, comes from there.”
You sure got that right, brother!
Once burnt; twice shy comes into play strongly!
No matter what size, color, or brand - cults tend to burn out the logic circuits of the brain.
Long exposure to illogical ideas and concepts can warp a person’s ability to reason correctly.
The worst deceptions are those that mix lies with just enough Truth to sucker people in.
Satan knows, as everyone does, that 100% flat out lies will not effective. People will see through it.
So cults add just enough Jesus and Christian lingo as window dressings to give legitimacy to their claims.
Are the SDAers harassing the Mormons? I think there is more truth in the SDA, than in Mormonism, but both are cults, in that they have a works based religion, and neither one has the RIGHT Jesus. 😀🤭🥓🍳
Here here. Spot on.
I will trust in Christ Mark, not in flawed individuals like you and yes even myself.
I pray God judges you as gently as you judge others.
Just like every other cult. They push their religion over Christ.
And that reveals the depth of the Satanic deception.
People throw the baby out with the bathwater. So strongly is God and the religious system tied together in their minds, that in the end, they wrongly reject God while rightly reject the lies and bondage the false religion fed them.
That isn’t even close to an answer to the question, which very strongly leads me to conclude the actual answer is “Yes”.
When someone is so reluctant to answer that they respond with a non-answer, it really does tell more than the person desires.
Would you tell the Apostle Paul that? He had plenty to warn about in regard to false teachers. Speaking out against false teaching is not a matter of judging but of discernment.
God tells us to be on the lookout for them and how to identify them. If you can’t or won’t do that, then you are leaving yourself and others wide open for deception. It is NOT a loving thing to do to allow someone to continue in a false teaching that is taking them to hell without warning them.
Galatians 5:12 I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!
Acts 20: 29-30 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
1 Timothy 4:1-5 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.
