It’s not that hard to figure out, and is one of my better posts spelling-wise. Sure, it’s got a few extra ,’s but this keyboard on tablet is,horrible. Always types a , when I hit space bar- the only mess-up really was when I said

not to,hard to,figure out that it means “instead of trying to attain salvation themselves”

I agree with you with one small correction. It is not following the Bible rather it is believing and trusting the actual words of the Bible. That is the narrow path Jesus spoke about. The catholics, nice as they are, are trusting in their participation in ritual while the reformed are trusting in the theologians ideas of what the church really is. St. Paul told the Philippian jailer step by step how to be saved. One would think that would end the matter but that is not the case.
There are a ton of people in history that have preached the Gospel and led many to Christ, have massive amounts of Scripture memorized and live godly lives but do not fully trust every word of the Bible.

Most churches have problems these days because they’ve left the Word of God. However the pedophile priest problem is very unique to the Roman church who heretically implemented priestly celibacy

I just finished reading “The Normal Christian Church Life” by Watchman Nee.
Check him out. Locked up by China, died in prison for his faith.
I read it about 30 years ago, and searched and found the book in my pile.
His main point is that the Church is the Local Church= The Believers in an area.
That does not jive with ‘denominations’ in any way.
The Elders of the local church are the leaders and authority of it.
Not traveling visitors, etc., even visiting Apostles.
The Apostles were ‘sent out’ to start new churches, setting up Elders to lead them. Then they moved on.
Nee develops this by narrating through the book of Acts.
I expect, as we continue in this confused world, that True Christians will be winnowed out. Denominations (I almost typed Demon-ations) will wither or fight against Godly belivers.
The CHURCH will gather/coalesce, as it did in NT times. And will see persecution, etc. as it did then.
The difference will be that this will be the end times, the perfection of the Bride, not the beginning of the spread of the Gospel.
The Catholic religion is not exempt from heresy.
The Holy Spirit protects the church, not some homosexual infiltrated religious organization.
What would it look like?

And the world is collapsing on itself and exactly what has Catholicism done in recent decades to slow or stop it?
To its credit, Catholicism has been a stalwart defender of the unborn, but otherwise they have done nothing to stem the rot. Instead, they have hosted cocaine fueled homosexual orgies at the Vatican and are doing next to nothing on the sexual abuse of children by their clergy.
They are hardly being salt and light.
And as far as that pope you all are saddled with at the moment…..
We didn’t need and don’t need a denominational stamp of approval on Scripture as if that validates it.
Jesus Himself declared virtually the entire OT as Scripture as a reading of the Gospels will show.
Peter, as an apostle, not as the supposed head of any denomination, recognized Paul’s writings as Scripture. The rest were widely recognized as such long before Catholicism was a thing, thus proving that there was no need for the nod of approval from Rome.
For that matter, some of the books included in the Catholic Bible are known to have errors in them, disqualifying them from being able to be classified as God’s Truth.
