Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem
Luke 10
At the Home of Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[f] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem
Abba, Father, How Wonderful You Are!
And LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All the Earth!
You Alone Are Worthy To be Praised,
For You Alone Are The One True God of The Universe.
We Thank You, Father, For Your Holy Word,
Which You have allowed to be preserved through Your People,
We Thank You for Revealing Your Secrets Through Your Word,
To those who have will have eyes to see,
and ears to hear.
How Wonderful You Are,
How Holy and Righteous and Just in Your Judgments!
You Alone Are Worthy To Be Praised,
For You Alone Are The One True God!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
God Bless America.

This thread usually gets a lot of viewers
Hey guys, like I said on another thread, I am not around much anymore for different reasons.
NONE of which have to do with my love for Each and Every one of my friends here.
See that’s what friends are.
I may not be here for 6 month or a year or more.
But I will check my mails and if someone needs me and I can be there, I will be there.
Like some have been for me.
And I wa HONOROED to be there for Farmer Dean. I was HONORED to be the last person on this earth to hear his voice.
I got to know him well. He was a GREAT, BRAVE man.
RIO Dean. And Vet. And others.
I love you all, it’s just I get too frustrated with all the insanity WHEN THEY ONLY OPTION IS VERY OBVIOUS.
And I would rightfully get kicked off for saying what the option is.
God Bless Every One of You this Holiday season.
I will check mail regularly from now on and I will TRY to come to the board and speak my mind but not TOO MUCH.
Buongiorno

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem
This story of Mary and Martha only appears in Luke's Gospel. Not only is it a beautiful illustration of Jesus's revolutionary additude about women, but also of Luke's, as he considered the story worthy to be in his narrative.
Martha's behavior was not inappropriate for the time and culture. A woman's place was in the home, and she did a good job being a hostess to the Great Teacher. The hustle and bustle of making everything "just right" is analogous to many churches that have lots of programs and events, perfect liturgies and awesome choirs, building funds, missionary programs, youth groups, and membership drives. None of these things are bad, and in fact, are necessary for a church to function. The problem arises when these things become the most important thing, and the reason for the church's existence.
I am sure that Mary would have helped out with the dishes after their Guest had left, but she wanted to spend every precious moment with Him, sitting at His feet and hearing everything He had to say. This is the prayer of Listening. (It's funny that a friend asked me to address this kind of prayer just yesterday, while the Scripture had already been chosen for today! Coincidence? I think NOT!)
"Listening" is very difficult, because of all the distractions and worries of life. Sometimes the distractions are just normal, even good things, like serving guests and keeping a lovely home. Other times they are a direct assault from the enemy of our souls, because we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, but with things in the spiritual realm.
Jesus repeated Martha's name when He addressed her. He said "Martha, Martha..." There is only one other time he does this, later in Luke's Gospel. He is standing on a hill, overlooking the city, and says, "Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem...".
The following of both double-naming is a reproof filled with sorrow and love. Could it be that both Martha and Jerusalem both suffered from the same affliction? Ritual vs, Inner Spirituality, Busyness vs. Relationship, Self-Righteousness vs. Humility, and Striving vs. Peace?
Stop. Sit at His feet and Learn. That is the Prayer of Listening.

Psalm 112
1 Praise the Lord!
Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments.
2 Their descendants will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in their houses,
and their righteousness endures for ever.
4 They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright;
they are gracious, merciful, and righteous.
5 It is well with those who deal generously and lend,
who conduct their affairs with justice.
6 For the righteous will never be moved;
they will be remembered for ever.
7 They are not afraid of evil tidings;
their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.
8 Their hearts are steady, they will not be afraid;
in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
9 They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor;
their righteousness endures for ever;
their horn is exalted in honour.
10 The wicked see it and are angry;
they gnash their teeth and melt away;
the desire of the wicked comes to nothing.
