Let's see the maps for 40, 50, 60. Let's see the maps for remarriages and 3- and 4-time losers. Let's see the state-by-state comparison of marriage law, custody law, child support law.
What are talking about?
Simply untrue. The majority of annulment requests might be granted, but some are denied. Also, some Catholics are told they would not qualify for annulment, so they never apply for one.
I know a Catholic denied annulment who then switched to a Protestant church and married there. Also, I sat in meetings and heard divorced Catholic women being advised not to bother applying for annulment because it most likely would not be granted to them, even though their husbands had cheated, left, and divorced them.
To be clear, I am not criticizing either the NE or the Bible Belt over their divorce rates. Only theorizing why the divorce rates are different.
Country music??
I have a Jerry Jeff Walker joke in there somewhere…
Haha

I think we both should understand that as hyperbole expressing what the broad criteria (lacking "sufficient use of reason") and subjective nature of some terms and judgments enabled, at least in the height of them. Biblically hardly any of the conditions for annulments can be found. ` "One of the parties has received sacred orders" would negate any pastors from marrying, which Paul affirmed they had power to do. "Fraud or deceit to elicit spousal consent" would disallow the marriage of Jacob and Leah. "Physical capacity for consummation lacking" "entering marriage with the intention of never having children" would eliminate David being married to Bathsheba.

Essentially often wrongs in both.

Got it. Thanks.
The "slant" is it just presumes people in the "Bible Belt" automatically means it's Christians getting divorced.
“And stereotyping....very....barefoot and pregnant gathered round the battle flag and dirt road music ....the reception held at Waffle House”
Ha. What part of that is wrong?
Hey a new one for my list...thanks
Well! (huffily)
The preacher said I’ve been absolved of THOSE, too!
Got it, i think.
I misunderstood.
