Oh, how America is preparing for the Antichrist with a Godless mindset.
A recent article in the Los Angeles Times and Yahoo News is headlined, "Why America's Record Godlessness is Good News for the Nation."
In part it reads, "The secularization of U.S. society--the waning of religious faith, practice and affiliation--is continuing at a dramatic and historically unprecedented pace. While many may consider such a development as a cause for concern, such a worry is not warranted. This increasing godlessness in America is actually a good thing, to be welcomed and embraced."
Are you serious?
As recently as 1976, nearly 40% of Americans said they believed that the Bible was the actual word of God--to be taken literally. Today, only about a quarter of Americans believe that. More believe the Bible is a collection of fables, history and tales written by men.
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) recently proclaimed that God's will was of no concern to this Congress. First the liberals kicked God out of the Pledge of Allegiance and then out of their Democrat National Convention in 2012. Until recently, they did not make an effort to force the rest of the nation to also abandon God.
The Consequences
Secularization has consequences. Check out nations that have experimented with it: Japan, Scandanavia, Australia, the U.K. and parts of Eastern Europe. How is society functioning in Godless China and Russia? Once God is gone, repression almost always follows.
The article heralding America's new Godlessness said that now society can embrace abortion, socialized medicine, euthanasia, and gun control.
It reads, "The organic secularization we are experiencing in the United States is a progressive force for good, one that is associated with improved human rights, more protections for planet Earth, and an increased socio-cultural propensity to make this life as fair and just as we can--in the here and now--rather than in a heavenly reward that fewer and fewer of us believe in."
Does this not foreshadow the words of Luke 18:8: When Christ returns, will He find any of faith??
Government Becomes God
For one hundred years, there has been an effort to make government god. Starting in 2020, an element was added that furthered that agenda--fear. Fear of a pandemic. It became the perfect storm.
Author and blogger Jonathan Brentner writes, "The combination of fear and the great deception of our time, have made vast numbers of people willing to submit to the government, which they now regard as the protector of their health.
As a result, they have willingly given up many of their rights and freedoms for the sake of remaining healthy, a trend sure to continue.
"The New World Order (AKA the beast) cannot exercise its dominion over people apart from their willingness to submit to dictates of a government they trust for their well-being and health. People wear masks without questioning their effectiveness.
"And, very few pastors stand up against the restriction regarding the freedom of religion imposed on them by socialist governors. "In order for the elite to achieve their ultimate goal of a one-world government, they must convince people of the need for more government control of their lives. This explains their devotion to the contrived climate emergency and why they will not let go of the increased control over our lives that they have achieved through the China virus."
Given Over
Four of the most terrifying words in the Bible are "God gave them over." (Romans 1:24-28) Because man rejected God, He gave them over to foolish idolatry. We find the same principle in 2 Thessalonians 2, but this time in terms of delusional beliefs: Those who reject God's truth will end up following the Antichrist. They will run pell-mell into his arms.
The stage is being set.
Just 50-100 years ago, our churches were filled on Sundays. Even though the Mainline Protestants were in decline, still faithful Presbyterians, Lutherans and Methodists joyfully sang hymns. The evangelical church was exploding in reaction to the liberalism that had invaded the church.
The thought of a prominent U.S. Congressman stating that our government was not concerned with God's will was unthinkable!
But 50-100 years ago we were not so late in the game! Few were even thinking about the Antichrist, much less knowingly or unknowingly heralding his coming. Now he is on the horizon. So are the Four Horsemen.
Evil is on its way. So is the return of the Lord in what is known as the Rapture of the Church. That's the good news in the midst of this sad story. He's coming soon whether the church today talks about this event or not. Nothing can stop it. It is imminent. Any minute.

To the contrary, five centuries ago Martin Luther warned that the Roman Church had been perverted by the Antichrist, the pope, through the practice of indulgences and works, which subverted the Gospel of justification by grace (Eph. 2:8-9; Mt 15:7-9).
In his Smalcald Articles (Part II, Art. XIII) Luther wrote: “We do not concede to the papists that they are the Church, for they are not. Nor shall we pay attention to what they command or forbid in the name of the Church, for thank God, a seven-year-old child knows what the Church is, namely, holy believers and lambs who hear the voice of their Shepherd. So children pray, ‘I believe in one holy Christian Church.’ Its holiness does not consist of surplices, tonsures, albs, or other ceremonies of theirs which they have invented beyond and above Holy Scripture, but it consists of the Word of God and true faith.”
Not a ‘Luther’ follower, but, have found the amount of time the Roman Church preaches against Luther to be a bit of a curiosity ... given that the devil got a temple dedicated to him right there at the Vatican... Strange at best...
There are ‘7’ churches described by John in Revelation ... kinda like a geographic circle .. on the globe .. only two were found without fault.
Christ’s Church survives because of Christ, as He promised (John 10:27-30). Whether, with their various heterodoxies and heresies, the Roman and any of the Protestant church organizations, are allowed to exist is left to the will of God.

Protestants and Catholics have much in common. Both recognize Christ as Savior.
Slandering each other is not helpful.
You obviously do not understand that the pope is regarded as the Antichrist not just by me, but by confessional Lutherans for the past five centuries., as described in the Brief Statement of 1932, Of the Antichrist:
As to the Antichrist we teach that the prophecies of the Holy Scriptures concerning the Antichrist, 2 Thess. 2:3-12; 1 John 2:18, have been fulfilled in the Pope of Rome and his dominion. Many Catholics are great people, and follow Christ. How many though pray to the Saints and ask forgiveness from a human being they call Father?

No he isn’t my saint. Luther was was just a man, flaws and all. I don’t look to any human saints .
Jesus Christ is the one I look to. No human intermediaries , just Jesus.
After considerable study and prayer, I am convinced that the Pre-wrath rapture is the truth. Soon many others will begin to come to this realization.
In the larger scale of time, it won’t be long before our Lord and Master returns...Praise His Name

Unless Carl is CORRECT about who the Antichrist/little horn/beast/man of sin/son of perdition power is. Carl IS CORRECT. And guess what? EVERY PROTESTANT REFORMER knew and publicly stated that the RCC was the Antichrist power. Many of the reformers went to their graves saying it as they were being tortured and then murdered by said Antichrist power. There is only one power that meets every biblical criteria for the Antichrist and that is the RCC. There is none other.
Here’s a few clues for you to consider:
1: It comes out of the 4th beast, WHICH IS ROME.
2: It will be a geographically small nation (a little horn..The Vatican).
3: It will rule over many people, nations and tongues (it will be universal)
4: It will be headquartered in the city of seven hills, (ROME).
5: Its priest-king will make great and blasphemous claims (claim to equal with God, claim to be able to forgive sins, and justify the persecution the saints of God).
6: It will claim its power to change the holy times and laws of God as its mark of authority.
7: It will be an apostate Church that makes the nations drink her cup of apostate doctrine.
8: It will be a “mother” Church, with apostate daughters coming from her.
9: It will be a persecuting power, killing the faithful saints of Jesus Christ as heretics.
10: It will hold power and authority for 1260 years following the fall of pagan Rome
11: It will suffer a deadly wound that will end 1260 years of dominance and persecution.
12: It will be revived after the deadly wound, and all the world would wonder at its revival.
13: It will rise to be a great power after the fall of the pagan Roman Empire (after 476 AD)
14: It would uproot three of the ten kingdoms the Roman Empire collapsed into.
The Antichrist power is the RCC. They have tortured and murdered more protestants (and many other groups of people) than any other entity in earth’s history, all in the name of religion and rooting out HERETICS.
The RCC meets every single biblical criteria for being identified as the Antichrist power. The RCC is Babylon. Some of the most sincere and decent Christians I have ever known have been Catholic. It’s not the people, it’s the system. Come out of her my people.
Similar to how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were protected in the fiery furnace, they assume many righteous will be saved here on earth likewise. I found the series quite thought-provoking, tho some of it I can't entirely agree with.
I do agree with their conclusion of how the church plays in to the Daniel prophecies. I came to that conclusion on my own. The church is the one who changed the times and took away the sacrifice among other things.
Prophecies have many layers. Such may be said of Daniel's prophecies. There is another city surrounded by seven hills. And it also has its elite who are forcing their beliefs on others and who are very active politically and etc.
I don't see how one can hold the bible in one hand, and today's newspaper in the other, and not see a correlation.
These are indeed interesting times, and like no other. Many are completely blind. So was I. At times I just want to close my eyes again. It's distressing to learn things like the numbers of lives taken in the womb in modern times, how fast we're losing our freedoms, etc. And to learn just how unrighteous we are. Sadly, we're becoming even more unrighteous daily.
Somehow, maybe by grace, I am able to deal with what the future may hold, just not with learning how unrighteous we really are when we/I thought otherwise.
It's like realizing or discovering you have mental illness. I hoping/praying recognition is the first step on the road to recovery. As He said, "there are none so blind as those who will not see." I see it now...
Amen. It’s chilling, because we have seen how rejection of God opens the doors to the cruelest and most vile sins. And now they are openly hating what is holy and good. May the Lord come soon!

Looks like you mistakenly think I made this comment? I didn’t. HereIntheHeartland said it to Carl Vehse. I addressed HITH saying in effect that it WAS CALLED FOR, because the Antichrist power is the RCC. I would invite you to read post 33 again for clarity.

Not ridiculous because the RRC is the Antichrist power (the pope is the Antichrist).
Whilst you ponder the choice.... also think about naming another group (Global or otherwise) of people that has fed more people, educated more people, clothed and housed more people than the Catholic Church has since the beginning of Christ’s ministry?
Here’s something for you to ponder....Antichrist/little horn/man of sin/son of perdition are the SAME. The Antichrist will also claim to be as close to Christ as Judas claimed to be. The only other person in the bible to be called Son of Perdition was Judas, and he betrayed Christ. Just think about that.
Go back to post 33 and see that the ONLY institution to meet every criteria for the Antichrist is the RCC. THERE IS NON OTHER.
