Uncalled for ? Phil, you will be quite surprised to learn then that many of your admired Reformer crowd BEGAN their defection movement on exactly that very claim of The Pope being the antichrist.. namely Luther..but also Wyclif, Hus, Zwingli among others. Nearly all who opposed the Church used the -Petrine office of the Papacy as antichrist- for a sales pitch to their new supporters. Admittedly. I dont know much about Henry the VIII and that movement- but I think he had reasons altogether different from the others

So yes...ridiculous as that Pope attack is now...it was NOT the case to attempt to destroy the Church starting 500 years ago.

AND so the pivot to the "RCC" Church as NOW being the anti-christ is equally silly, and thoughtless as well... as you have to know the Church has already been declared the Whore of Babylon to sell division to the DIY denominations.... SO WHICH IS IT TO BE???

Whilst you ponder the choice.... also think about naming another group (Global or otherwise) of people that has fed more people, educated more people, clothed and housed more people than the Catholic Church has since the beginning of Christ's ministry?

Looks like you mistakenly think I made this comment? I didn’t. HereIntheHeartland said it to Carl Vehse. I addressed HITH saying in effect that it WAS CALLED FOR, because the Antichrist power is the RCC. I would invite you to read post 33 again for clarity.

Here’s something for you to ponder....Antichrist/little horn/man of sin/son of perdition are the SAME. The Antichrist will also claim to be as close to Christ as Judas claimed to be. The only other person in the bible to be called Son of Perdition was Judas, and he betrayed Christ. Just think about that.

Go back to post 33 and see that the ONLY institution to meet every criteria for the Antichrist is the RCC. THERE IS NON OTHER.

A woman in prophecy is a CHURCH. There is God’s Church, and then there is the Great WHORE (apostate church). Look at the language of Rev 17. IT DESCRIBES THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. It is the church of the ANTICHRIST, which is the pope.

Revelation 17:

1And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
