The hands of the Savior, the Mother of God and the saints are never depicted by icon painters "just like that", in an arbitrary gesture, every detail on the icon is symbolic.
When we present an icon of the Lord Jesus Christ, we most often remember His blessing gesture. The fingers of the right hand are folded for a blessing - like the Latin letters I and X (that is, Jesus Christ). Or collected in three fingers - a symbol of the Holy Trinity (but in the same way as the Old Believers are baptized - with two open fingers and three, collected in a handful in the palm of their hand). This gesture is depicted on icons not only by the Savior, but also by the saints. And only those who blessed people during their earthly life. For example, these are St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, John Chrysostom or Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky). Or the reverends and the righteous who were priests.
A palm open towards the one looking at the icon is a symbol of the righteous. A sign of a person who is open to the world, whose thoughts are pure. It is with this gesture that you can see the image of Blessed Matrona, and also, for example, the holy princes Boris and Gleb, who, as we know from their lives, did not go to the betrayal of their brother Svyatopolk - instead they chose an honest and pure death.

Some of the comments on this thread border on sacrilegious.
My understanding is that the skull at Christ’s feet represents his triumph over death.
It means the Trinity of Christ. Father, Son and The Holy Ghost.
Not sure what information you want, but I can tell you some. I have one given to me by a Jesuit teacher I had. He told me that the skull presented our world, the world of Adam and death, and it is placed at the feet of the Lord to show His victory above that world and His promise of life beyond death.
