He doesn’t make a big deal about it, but just throws down the bible and historical data for it.

Anyone who has ever spent time on a farm knows winter isn't the time you want to be camping out in a manger, stable, barn, or crib. Winter is hectic and muddy. Animals nicker, bellow and bleat until fed. The lot is a mess of ankle-deep mud and higher.

If you're going to spend your nights in such a place, the fall is a pleasant time. The area and buildings will have been cleaned and made ready for the fresh hay and grain harvests. The animals are still mainly out in pastures until frost kills the grasses.

Common sense evidence Christ was born in a manager in the fall if no room at the inn.

‘I believe he was also Baptized on the day - on his 30th birthday. This would make his ministry exactly 3 1/2 year long - exactly as foretold in Daniel. The destruction of Israel also lasted 3 1/2 years, which fulfills the balance of Daniels last week of the age’

The scriptures hint of that very thing.
He was baptized on His 30th birthday.
A New Moon Day,the first day of His 6th month (summer).
Then led into the wilderness 40 days.
And started His ministry on the same day He was presented in the temple as a 40 day babe.
Day of Atonement, 10th day of 7th month.

3.5 years from His Triumphant Entry,10th day of the 1st month.
And He finished His Work that week as the Passover Lamb, the 14th Day of the 1st month, the 6th and final work day.

And rested in the tomb on the weekly and annual Sabbath, Unleavened Bread (15th day) and rose on the 16th day, First Fruits.
The first work day of the 3rd week.

Note the 16th day a month later commemorates ‘manna from heaven’ on the 16th of the 2nd month.

You’re very welcome. Thanks for the post. I wish more people would look into the lies we’ve inherited. I don’t always agree with the author at the links I posted, but he’s one of the most knowledgeable in this subject.

The Bible says Jesus birth was in winter. Shepherds were in the field around Bethlehem. That’s winter (rainy season). December would be the start of lambing season.

Also primitive people nearly everywhere have been able to pinpoint the soltices, some at least since the Neolithic (ex: Stonehenge). It makes no sense that a society as advanced as the Romans would be unable to do so.

I didn’t say they were unable to do so - they didn’t celebrate it.

And what makes you think December isn’t winter in Bethlehelm?

Israel isn’t like here.

“Weather in December
December, the first month of the winter, in Jerusalem, is also a moderate month, with average temperature ranging between max 14°C (57.2°F) and min 8.4°C (47.1°F). In December, the average high-temperature slightly decreases, from a comfortable 18.8°C (65.8°F) in November, to a moderate 14°C (57.2°F). “

I meant that as a response to the article that said they were celebrating the winter solstice on December 25th.

I don't doubt winter in Jerusalem isn't as brutal as in parts of the US, like North Dakota, but even we in the deep South of the US deal with killing frosts. It's when you then have to begin feeding your animals.

Admittedly, I'm no expert on the weather in Israel, but I did a quick search and found this:

This Week in Jewish Farming: First frost By Ben Harris October 31, 2014 12:09 pm

Perhaps a Jewish farmer will chime in with more insight.

Of course traditions morph and change. It is the nature of traditions. It does not make traditions bad or good. But we should always look at the reason for traditions.

Example, 4th of July traditions have changed a lot over time. Are you being lied to?

IS IT REALLY IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHEN JESUS WAS BORN?

This is Gnosticism, secret knowledge on something not important. I know something you don’t know, but it make one feel superior. If it was important, God would tell us, He doesn’t.

IS IT REALLY IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHEN JESUS WAS BORN?

IT IS TO ME!

Because with this knowledge comes the realization that only a Divine hand could have coordinated the timing of historical and prophetic events and celestial movements.

The great deceiver has succeeded in deceiving us all, for a time.

Native pastures react differently than crops. The native grasses of Israel are necessarily summer dormant,
Texas-Israel forage research aims to boost grazing options " They break dormancy and begin to grow again when the days grow shorter and temperatures drop – about the time we receive our autumn rains. They obtain their peak growth from January through March,"
Because of the grass the native Awassi sheep must follow the seasons. In the winter they're in the lowlands until the pastures decline. In the summer they're in the mountains. PS - yes I used to raise sheep.

Let's remember this was two thousand years ago.

What Was the Climate and Weather Of Israel Like at the Time of Jesus?

It’’s a nice article which says “ If there are differences in the climate today compared to 2000 years ago, they are minor.”
This is why the native grasses of Israel are still summer dormant. If the climate had significantly changed those grasses would be outcompeted by longer growing species.

Many (most?) people in Afghanistan don’t know their birthday. I knew people who didn’t know exactly how old they were. And some people don’t have last names, so they repeat their first name like xp38 xp38.

It's the fall and winter in question, not the summer, if you haven't picked up on that. Note in the article when the rainy season is.

When I was a kid, growing up in the South, I helped my grandfather feed his 60+ head of free-range cattle during the winter for 0.75 cents an evening. Though they had thousands of acres of grassland to graze on, they began showing up every evening once the frost hit.

I'll not forget having to jump clear out of one of my rubber boots, which had become stuck in the mud to avoid being stampeded. We never did find that boot.

Because with this knowledge .........................

Well, then you maybe need a sliver of the cross to really reinforce your faith. How about some of Jesus hair? Maybe an imprint of his sandals? Those would all be good things to base your faith on...............................
