Rejecting Christ

"For those who disbelieve, 'the stone which the builders rejected, this became the very corner stone,' and, 'a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense'; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed" (1 Pet. 2:7-8).

Rejecting Christ leads to spiritual damnation.

Israel was a unique nation, chosen by God to be the guardian of His Word and proclaimer of His kingdom. The Old Testament records His miraculous and providential care for her throughout the centuries, and the prophets told of One who would come as her great Deliverer. Israel eagerly awaited the promised Messiah.

But the story has a surprise ending. In the Person of Jesus Christ, the Messiah finally came and presented Himself to Israel. The religious leaders examined Him carefully, measuring Him in every way they could. But He didn't fit their blueprint. They expected a reigning political Messiah who would instantly deliver them from Roman oppression. They felt no need for a spiritual deliverer, so they rejected Him and tossed Him aside like a worthless rock.

That rejected cornerstone is precious to believers but remains a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to unbelievers. A "stone of stumbling" was a stone on which someone tripped while walking along the road. A "rock of offense" was a rock large enough to crush a person. The point: rejecting Christ brings spiritual devastation of enormous proportions.

All who reject Christ do so because they are disobedient to the Word. Rebellion against the written Word inevitably leads to rejection of the living Word. Of such people Peter said, "To this doom they were also appointed" (v. 8). They weren't appointed to reject Christ, but to receive the judgment that their rejection demands. That's a frightening reality that should motivate you to take every opportunity to evangelize the lost.

Suggestions for Prayer

If you have family or friends who are rejecting Christ, pray for them often, asking God to grant them saving faith.

For Further Study

Read Romans 9:30-10:17, noting Israel's false standard of righteousness and Paul's prayer for her salvation.

Many are rejecting Jesus Christ.

They reject him by sinning and not keeping His commandments.

They reject him by not praying and worshiping God as requested in first three commandments.

They reject Him by rejecting the food and drink He gives us for our salvation(in the Eucharist). Read John Chapter 6.

They reject Him by following false prophets and false teachers.

They reject His Catholic Church and follow heretics.

They reject Him by rejecting Baptism.

They reject His Sacraments.

They reject Him with sexual sins and prideful behavior.

They reject Him by having a false faith without works and love and not truly returning His love.

They reject Him by making false claims against His Truth.

They reject Him because their opinion is greater than God’s Truth.

Morning you two.

Have a blessed day. Despite all of the terrible news in the world, it is all more evidence that the return of the King is closer than the day before.

I guess you don’t want to hear about the ways man rejects God and discuss how to overcome that rejection of Christ.

Perhaps you missed or ignored the warnings from God and His Blessed Mother at how Jesus is very upset by the sins of this generation and not sharing His love and following Satan.

There are many warnings: Fatima Lourdes, Medjugorje, Garbandal, Padre Pio, Guadalupe, St Maria Faustina , and many others

“Our Lady of Fatima’s message to a sinful world in our day, may be summarized in the . . . imperative, ‘Do penance’” (Penance and Reparation). The imperative nature of this message was made apparent in the third part of the secret where St. Lucia records “the angel [crying] out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, penance, penance.’”

While the Catholic Church does not require our belief in these messages as dogma, however the Church believes that they are truthful.

I believe that many have rejected God by our actions and beliefs (including Catholics). Many have left the Catholic faith because of the sins of a few priests and many other reasons. We all need to embrace the hard realities of life with true faith in the Catholic Church (as Jesus promised) and not develop our own beliefs.

We need to seek God’s Truth with reason and logic and not follow false teachers because it is easier or more comfortable. Many have been led astray and are missing wonderful gifts from God.

Sorry bro, I just don’t agree with the majority of your doctrines, and interpretations. That’s not likely to change anytime soon. I am comfortable with that. 👍😁

You are entitled to believe what you want. While I do not know what protestant version you follow, it was not established by Jesus Christ but by man as a protest to the Catholic faith or split from another protestant version.

However God wants you to seek His Truth and not man made opinion.

I am not trying to change you. I want God to change you.

Why do you not agree with doctrines that Christ’s Catholic Church has given us? Is it the Mass? the Sacraments? the Pope? Salvation? The Blessed Mother? Purgatory? Christ’s Morality?

Are you really comfortable?

Peace.

Your salutation of *Peace* is belied by your trolling these threads.

Nobody is rejecting Christ.

We are rejecting the corrupt, immoral, religious organization known as ROMAN Catholicism and it’s claims of being the only One True Church, which it’s not. It can’t even claim to be a church anymore based on how it’s run and what it allows. It forfeited that right centuries ago.

The Orthodox do not have this power trip they are on that demands all submit to it or go to hell.

You want to convince someone to join your group? Clean house.

And not this *We’re trying* nonsense. DO or do not. There is no *try*.

Y’all have had over a thousand years to clean the filth out of your religion and have not done it yet.

Get back to us when it’s DONE, not *tried*. Then you MIGHT have some basis for talking to others about how much better your religion is than others.

But no way will I put myself under the authority of a homosexual infiltrated, pedophile protecting, islam loving religion. That is the work of the devil, not God.

Because they are man fabricated fairy tales.

God's Truth is found in Jesus Christ and His Word.

Read the Bible and you'll find all the truth you need for salvation and growth in Christ WITHOUT being encumbered by Romanism all its addendums.

Catholic faith is meaningless. Faith in Catholicism saves no one. Faith in Jesus Christ saves anyone.

Are you really comfortable?

Yes, I am EXTREMELY comfortable with my faith. I have assurance of salvation. Some may consider that to be the sin of presumption. I can’t help what people think, but that is why I am comfortable. Assurance of salvation is a beautiful thing. Everyone should experience it.
Look, we have been through this a thousand times. Things are not going to change. I just don’t agree with your doctrines and interpretations. I am comfortable with that. We will just have to agree to disagree. 🥳🤗

Yo!
Another *FORMER* Catholic chiming in.

The RCC lied to me about many things, but the one thing that made me leave without even a second thought was their lies about Salvation.

It took a Protestant to point it out to me in black & white in The Bible (you can’t argue God’s Holy Word).

It is my belief that the RCC has sent billions of souls to hell over the centuries for these lies.

God made it so simple that most of humanity ridicules His Word and Truth about Heaven & His Kingdom.

Acts 16:31
John 6:29
John 14:6
Romans 10:9-13
1 John 4:15

I trust The Bible (Sola Scriptura) over man made religion - which is all denominations actually, especially the Constantine crafted RCC.

Would you rather trust God’s Word or your “church” organization about your Eternal Destiny?

I believe you are mistaken.

“there are many warnings: Fatima Lourdes, Medjugorje, Garbandal, Padre Pio, Guadalupe, St Maria Faustina , and many others”

Who gave those warnings?
How do you know it’s not Satan using “Mary” as an illusion to create deception?

Anything added to Scripture is a curse, including these so-called warnings from “Mary”.

Maybe “Mary” will tell you to take the ID2020 vaccine so you can be in compliance with Pope Francis’s edict & contact tracing by the end of this year?

Will you do it if that is the message?
