Oh, it goes back earlier than that...back to the very beginning. Nestor, Celcius, Montannus, Sabellius, and many others were self serving heretics going back to the first and second centuries. The Apostles warned us of them. "Whatever will be has already been done and there is noting new, under the sun."

How good evangelicals feel about this baloney should give you all an indication what devout Catholics have been going through re: the constant attacks and disparagement that we receive from our bishops these past years.
