No sir. Not Mary. Jesus. Where did this Mary stuff come from? The Bible doesn’t teach us to worship or elevate Mary. It just doesn’t teach that.
I’m pretty sure the bible teaches us to love EVERYONE including Mary.

I don’t know any Protestants that hold Mary in contempt.
I, however, hold in contempt Catholics who elevate Mary beyond what Scripture supports.
Nowhere is Mary worshiped; She is only asked to pray for us, both Catholics and non-Catholics.
Dang. Long prayer. Lots of repetition. Reminds me of Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:7:
“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.”
I agree with the comment above mine. Jesus above all. Jesus alone is our Savior. There is no “co-mediatrix.”
When Jesus teachings contradict the teachings of the Catholic church, I will choose to follow the teaching of Jesus every time. Not out of pride or hate as projected by this article, but out of direct obedience to scripture.
When Jesus taught the Apostles to pray, he did not teach them to pray to Mary, or to David, Moses or Elijah or any of the old testament patriarchs. Jesus didn’t even teach us to pray to him. Jesus taught that we should have a direct conversation with God.
Only God is divine. I believe in Catholicism Mary is venerated not worshiped. There is a huge difference.

I agree however the article seems to argue the opposite.
In philosophy there is a concept called the “transcendent third” which states that you love someone more completely when you love what they love. Surely Jesus loved Mary.
And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.”
And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”
And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” - Mark 3

I guess the dictionary is wrong when suggesting synonyms for "venerate". I do not despise or advocate dishonoring Mary. She's just not to be elevated to where some wish to place here.
How can Mary pray for us ?
John 3:16 is not just words.
