What Is Better, Catholic or Protestant? Francis: Both of Them Together
The Youth Pastoral Office of Magdeburg diocese, Germany, will organize an October 2020 ecumenical pilgrimage for young people to Rome.
The motto of the journey is With Luther to the Pope. A similar trip was already taken in 2016.
The pilgrimage is co-organized by the regional Protestant State church, although the Protestants repudiate pilgrimages.
On the trip's webpage Mit-Luther-zum-Papst.de, the tour operator, Hans Höffmann, remembers what Pope Francis said to the participants of the 2016 pilgrimage when asked by a youngster: "What is better, Catholic or Protestant? Francis answered in German: "Both of them together!
Martin Luther attended school in Magdeburg as a boy. As a preacher, he led the city to defect from the Church. Magdeburg became the first major city to publish Luthers writings.

As usual:
Being RC and $2 will get you a cup of coffee.
Being P and $2 will get you a cup of coffee and a glass of water.
Jesus came to divide. The division is not P and RC.
He also came to unite on the same point of division. Combining P and RC does not add up to the right point.

The message of Jesus Christ is carried by the church; but only Jesus Christ and Christ alone gave the blood of the innocent Lamb for my (or your) sin offering. I am a member of a local Baptist church. Believers by grace through faith in Jesus Christ are my eternal kinfolk. We will all be judged by a just judge. Sincere questions or prayer requests welcome at calvario.kerrville@gmail.com.

RC stands only for Roman Catholic (the Latin Rite.)
For your information there are 22 rites, all Catholic Masses!

I'm Baptist. I have no problem with Catholics what-so-ever. In fact, I've considered joining the Catholic faith. There is so much ignorance in the Protestant circles regarding Catholicism and there are many lies and myths about Catholicism that my denomination perpetuates, that many Baptists will never seek out the truth. On the other hand, (not often) I hear Priests on Catholic radio perpetuating myths about Protestants. All of us believe that Jesus Christ is the true Savior; born of a virgin; crucified for our sins; and rose from the dead. Accepting Christ is the absolute directive to get into Heaven. To me, the rest is a matter of the worship and the structure of each faith.
For once, I agree with the Pope. And one other thing, we must all stick together, respect our differences and fight the enemies of Christianity.

Sounds like Anglican to me, “vie media”.

All of us believe that Jesus Christ is the true Savior; born of a virgin; crucified for our sins; and rose from the dead. To which the Roman Catholic has added a whole bunch of other things you MUST believe.
Accepting Christ is the absolute directive to get into Heaven.
Per some Roman Catholic writers, though not supported by the New Testament, one must accept Mary before one can accept Christ.
I have no problem with Catholics what-so-ever.
You might want to do a bunch more homework. Much of what is required in Roman Catholicism is not supported by the New Testament.

There are a number of former Roman Catholics on these forums though. They have left Roman Catholicism for Christianity.

Thank you, Liberty Women, for your good will and good heart. I am a Catholic blessed to have many fine Protestants among my friends and family. I do think we are one family in Christ.
I’m afraid a few (not many, but a few) of the non-Catholic FReepers will admonish you not cast any fond looks at Catholics. Sigh. Just pray for them!
In His Love,
Julianne (Mrs Don-o)
