At the formation of the 116th Congress of the United States, today we lift up in prayer the majority-party Democratic Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, whose leadership have pre-emptively placed themselves in arbitrary opposition to our President, Vice President and all the goals of their Administration, even if Democratic leaders had supported those goals in the recent or distant past.
This political cold war begs the intervention of Your Spirit and Your angels, dearest Lord.
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

Today, Lord, we follow your instructions to pray specifically, by name or by state, for those in avowed opposition to our interests, our President, our Constitution and the furtherance of Your Church in this land that we love.
We desire as intercessors for our nation, by Your Divine hand, a renewed spirit of patriotism, loyalty, and devotion to the U.S. Constitution by our elected Democratic House:
• May they take their oaths of office deeply seriously;
• may they inquire with discernment before making decisions and resist being led by Satan;
• may they dare to stand up for right and reject evil regardless of the consequences;
• may they bear the discomfort of disagreeing unexpectedly with others of their Party at the prompting of the Holy Spirit;
• and may they act in accordance with Your Will, and not their own understanding, habit, or ideology.
We lift up to You by name these individuals for Divine cleansing and washing of the spirit:

Therefore we ask Your grace to help us find ways to pray and to act to help our President achieve victories for Your people and Your Word in this land. We ask your mercy as we struggle to keep our own hearts clean and our words be words of healing in the face of anti-Christian actions by government leaders. Use us, mold us and guide us to exact Your Will in this situation. Be with our leaders at every level of society, whether in our homes, churches, or civic institutions, leading them to do what is right within the system—or count as “all joy” the consequences of “counter resistance.”
