Heavenly Father –

We thank You, Lord, for your loving kindness.

We confess our ungrateful spirit, forgetting Your goodness toward us. Forgive us. Grant us a heart of repentance and desire to turn back to You with all our heart.

This weekend, may we be inspired by the words of Abraham Lincoln. During his 1863 Thanksgiving Proclamation, he recounted Your blessings upon our land:

No human counsel hath devised,
nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things.

They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God,
who while dealing with us in anger for our sins,
hath nevertheless remembered mercy.

Though our nation is divided as in the evil days of the Civil War, may we choose to:

Give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus

We lift up all our leaders, Lord. Protect President Trump. Fill him with Your Spirit. Grant him Your Wisdom. Give him courage, discernment, and strength. Deliver him from the treachery of the enemy within.
