Father God,
Exalted and mighty Lord of all, we praise Your name forever!
Today we give thanks for all those who have gone before us, including all those who repented and believed in Your salvation from the time of Moses until this day, all the Apostles and disciples who accompanied Jesus Christ on this earth, all the martyrs of the early church and during every persecution until this day, all the faithful who patiently and diligently carried the church forward through every generation, all the soldiers of Christendom and troops who to this day have fought to preserve liberty and the right of free exercise, all the prayer warriors who keep Your Word in their hearts as they intercede for the salvation of others and the betterment of humankind, all the parents and teachers who have trained up children in the Lord, all devoted husbands and wives who have loved each other as Christ loves the church in honor of You. For these and any saints we have not named, we give You thanks and praise, dear Father of us all.
We pray in faith, for You preserve the souls of Your saints; You deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalm 97:10)
Father, keep us faithful as we intercede for our troops today, especially those deployed to our southern border. Strike fear not only of earthly peril, but of Divine retribution in the hearts of those who have organized the lawbreaking and wrong-doing, and thwart their evil plans. Deliver us as you delivered Israel from Pharaoh; and may we, like Joseph, find in ourselves hearts of mercy as You deliver conspirators to us for justice.
We do plead with You, Father God, for Your will to be done, for Your truth to manifest, and for righteousness to overwhelm evil in every aspect of our current election season. We pray for faithful Christians and Constitution-honoring American citizens to dominate in order to do Your will in our land as of November, 2018. Bring all needed support to our President and his administration, Lord God we pray,
giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. Colossians 1:12
And lastly, we give thanks and ask Your blessing for every person who has led us to You, whether our relatives of living memory or our ancestors, whether pastors or teachers, friends, neighbors, congregants or perfect strangers who have witnessed to us through example, word, touch, sharing, or song.
We honor You, Lord, in Jesus name.
Amen.

Find Us Faithful
We're pilgrims on the journey of the narrow road
And those who've gone before us line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace
O may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
O may all who come behind us find us faithful
Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
Let us run the race not only for the prize
But as those who've gone before us, let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives
After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone
And our children sift through all we've left behind
May the clues that they discover, and the memories they uncover
Become the light that leads the to the road we each must find
O may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
O may all who come behind us find us faithful
Amen.

Psalm 35
A Psalm of David.
[1] Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me;
fight against those who fight against me!
[2] Take hold of shield and buckler,
and rise for my help!
[3] Draw the spear and javelin
against my pursuers!
Say to my soul,
“I am your deliverance!”
[4] Let them be put to shame and dishonor
who seek after my life!
Let them be turned back and confounded
who devise evil against me!
[5] Let them be like chaff before the wind,
with the angel of the LORD driving them on!
[6] Let their way be dark and slippery,
with the angel of the LORD pursuing them!
[7] For without cause they hid their net for me;
without cause they dug a pit for my life.
[8] Let ruin come upon them unawares!
And let the net which they hid ensnare them;
let them fall therein to ruin!
[9] Then my soul shall rejoice in the LORD,
exulting in his deliverance.
[10] All my bones shall say,
“O LORD, who is like thee,
thou who deliverest the weak
from him who is too strong for him,
the weak and needy from him who despoils him?”
[11] Malicious witnesses rise up;
they ask me of things that I know not.
[12] They requite me evil for good;
my soul is forlorn.
[13] But I, when they were sick —
I wore sackcloth,
I afflicted myself with fasting.
I prayed with head bowed on my bosom,
[14] as though I grieved for my friend or my brother;
I went about as one who laments his mother,
bowed down and in mourning.
[15] But at my stumbling they gathered in glee,
they gathered together against me;
cripples whom I knew not
slandered me without ceasing;
[16] they impiously mocked more and more,
gnashing at me with their teeth.
[17] How long, O LORD, wilt thou look on?
Rescue me from their ravages,
my life from the lions!
[18] Then I will thank thee in the great congregation;
in the mighty throng I will praise thee.
[19] Let not those rejoice over me
who are wrongfully my foes,
and let not those wink the eye
who hate me without cause.
[20] For they do not speak peace,
but against those who are quiet in the land
they conceive words of deceit.
[21] They open wide their mouths against me;
they say, “Aha, Aha!
our eyes have seen it!”
[22] Thou hast seen, O LORD; be not silent!
O Lord, be not far from me!
[23] Bestir thyself, and awake for my right,
for my cause, my God and my Lord!
[24] Vindicate me, O LORD, my God, according to thy righteousness;
and let them not rejoice over me!
[25] Let them not say to themselves,
“Aha, we have our heart’s desire!”
Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.”
[26] Let them be put to shame and confusion altogether
who rejoice at my calamity!
Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor
who magnify themselves against me!
[27] Let those who desire my vindication
shout for joy and be glad,
and say evermore,
“Great is the LORD,
who delights in the welfare of his servant!”
[28] Then my tongue shall tell of thy righteousness
and of thy praise all the day long.
