If the title looks plain idiotic, it's not. On October 31, many who identify as being believers in Christ Jesus will actually do just that. Their church may have a spooky "trunk or treat" or festival, or a costume contest and they'll take their kids to it. This year the costumes will be even more horrific than the last, but it's all in fun. No. If you or your church participate in the celebration of Satan's day, you are in league with the Evil One and are not truly a Child of the Living God--Jesus. Get yourself and your family out of that church, repent and receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord or recommit your lives to the Lord, and find a church that does follow Christ and teaches the whole Bible. If there is any gathering at any church on the 31st, it should be to pray for the protection and safety of our law enforcement, first responders, our fellow believers, missionaries, our loved ones and thank our Savior that He indeed is coming quickly. My beloved FRiends, I love you in Christ Jesus.

That’s just silly. Is it your default assumption that anyone you see posting online shares your faith?
There’s no basis for Halloween in what David did, or anything in the Bible can be used to justify just about anything. People do try to do that, though. Halloween today is part and parcel of an entertainment culture that, rather than preparing the way in people’s hearts and minds for God, puts up barriers and strongholds and makes God’s ways and will far more strange and inaccessible to them, and just because the Bible prophesies that the End Times will be like this doesn’t justify Christians jumping in on Satan’s side just for some cheap, worldly pleasures which also don’t prepare them for Christ’s return and life in Heaven. The foolish virgins thought it was enough that they were waiting for the bridegroom, but they really didn’t want to live ever after with him because they didn’t do everything they could to prepare and weren’t concerned about missing him, while the wise virgins made sure they had oil.
No, people who expose the unfruitful works of darkness are doing God’s will, while people who twist Scripture to justify those unfruitful works are either tares and false teachers and prophets or foolish virgins who have taken no oil with them, who walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.
There’s a difference between forgivable and excusable. It works better if you don’t rail at the erring, if they are erring.

I think that cloak-and-dagger sophistication will remain necessary in our culture until after Armageddon. In that light, Halloween is kid stuff compared to what future voters will need to understand regarding the CIA, Counter-terror, etc.
Another time King David danced in such a way that his wife was scandalized. She did not understand that David was dancing before the Lord, filled with the Holy Spirit.

A parable doesn’t always map in every detail to the point it’s illustrating.
Thank the good Lord that He does present every person who will be willing with multiple, multiple witnesses and enormous forbearance. And the embarkation on the promise can start — may I use the phrase — in a jiffy.
But those who are foolish enough to say “Oh, I can go face God without His help to do that” are going to find themselves up poop creek with no paddle. What an existence completely given over to the devil would be like, we can only surmise. But it would be one of freely chosen vain fury at the Lord. Malice has its own pleasure, and C. S. Lewis surmised about a “black pleasure” that would send any soul not already damned to its prayers in nightmare terror. But the point is, please don’t let yourself go there. Heaven would far rather have you. But you have to let it conquer your heart.
It is kid stuff in that vein. And though some people’s practices on Halloween have gone to the increasingly macabre, others have kept it kid stuff.
We have to start somewhere. In God’s promise of salvation, He doesn’t promise instant perfection right now, only an eternal covering in Christ. By starting to honor God more at Halloween, then we can embark on a journey that will make it easier to face future trials (whether or not we are here for an actual Armageddon). I’ve already pointed out some practical possibilities, like putting out an “Honor system - God bless you” bowl of candy, and having the kids dress as saints and go around saying “God Bless You” rather than “Trick Or Treat.” Some sit it out as a family with lights off. Wherever the strength and direction of the Spirit of God takes you. But Christ is transformative, and not to take advantage of that is a shame.
I did know that porneia is in the Bible, but I didn’t mention it because it doesn’t mean pornography, and the poster I was replying to was arguing that a word wasn’t actually in the Bible. As I mentioned to him, neither pornography or child pornography are actually mentioned in the Bible, so that would, by his logic, make them acceptable to God, but clearly they aren’t.
It’s the purpose to which pornography is put — both by the creator and the consumer. I am furnishing the rest of the story, and pointing out that the purpose matters.
Many, many Christians are registered members of the Democratic Party. Are they too blind to see?
You can’t serve two masters. Democrats already disdain the God of Creation. They worship the god of destruction, Satan. You cannot be a Christian or Jew in good faith and vote for a party that hates both.
I know, dj, but I know many “conservative” Christians still registered in the Democratic Party. They may be clueless.
Either you are or you aren’t. If they claim to be and vote Democrat, they’re aiding the side of Satan. If they’re that stupid and cannot comprehend that, they have no business voting.
Again, there is no spiritual comparison to be made between what David did and Halloween.
As I’ve said more than once here, I believe Christians can be following the Lord’s will by having an alternative to Halloween celebration, whatever that might be, but knowingly embracing it and even defending its dark elements while presenting themselves as mature Christians who are able to rightly instruct and correct others is nothing less than embracing Satanic worldliness and doing what Isaiah prophesied about, calling evil good and good evil. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20.
Cheap grace — as Paul put it, “shall we sin so grace may abound?” — is what you’re advocating. The Satanic entertainment culture that many professing Christians zealously defend like nothing else is created by sin and creates sin.
