The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) has publicly invoked the intercession of the Virgin Mary to free the nation from the claws of communism, in a clear reference to the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.
Blessed Virgin, Mother of Coromoto, heavenly Patron of Venezuela, free our country from the claws of communism and socialism, the CEV posted on Twitter this Sunday, complete with an image of Santa Maria and a Venezuelan flag.

Evangelicals use human reason as a POSITIVE rule of Faith. Their interpretation of the Sacred Scriptures proceeds from their human reason, which informs them of what they must must believe. Thus their faith is very reasonable, rational. You might want to reference the Catholic Encyclopedia regarding the Immaculate Conception before you post this line of thinking.

It helps the discussion to actual quote what He said rather than spew (with arrogant pride from Pharisaical-minded schools of religious conditioning) more RC dogma over the forum.
Nice to get a non-Catholic and Scriptural opinion (”Says who? You?”) once in a while on this Free Republic Catholic Forum. Wonder how much longer this freedom here might last.

True.
Jesus: This is My Blood.
Believer: Amen.

And again context is your friend in understanding the New Testament.
23For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread;
24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.
25In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.
26For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lords death until He comes.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 NASB

FWIW, on this forum, “gobbledygook” is abusive.

Thank you. That is called the "Memorial Acclamation." It is exactly what the whole congregation says at EVERY MASS, right after the Consecration:
"When we eat this Bread, and drink this cup, we proclaim Your death,Lord Jesus, until you come again."
And at sung Masses, itis sung. I sing this every day.

No, I suppose, what it really is, is this:
REVERSED Standard Version
Jesus: This is just a metaphor, a symbol of My Blood.
Believer: But why? What for?
Jesus: So you can symbolically commit blasphemy.
Believer: OK, I get it. Let's do it!

FRoman Catholic idea of humor? Stick to your cut and paste.

Is that what Roman Catholics have always done?
You know why I asking this....right?
To: ealgeone
This "Memorial Acclamation ("When we eat this bread,,," etc) which is part of the Novus Ordo in English, has been part of the Latin-rite (meaning Western-rite) Liturgy at least since Trent: so, 500 years at least. And Trent drew on that which was already traditional and ancient.
I'm not a liturgy expert, so I can't go into more detail than that for the nonce.
No, why are you asking this?

Well, I ask you. If it’s (only) symbolic blood, isn’t drinking it symbolic blasphemy?

To continue to illustrate to those interested that the Roman Catholic church claim “we’ve always done it this way” is bogus.
To: Claud
IF you were familiar with the Old Testament you would know that GOD commanded Israelites to not eat the blood for the life is in the blood. This command was in force ont he nigfht before Jesus went to the cross as the sinless sacrifice for our sin. The Disciples present at the Passover meal were still Israelites, so the command was to not eat the blood. Your religion dictates to the adherents that they violate the same command your religion claims the disciples violated on the night before the Cross.
BTW, the blood is not the Life, the LIFE is in the blood. Here is your religion's dilemma: if JESUS actually gave them His blood in the cup, He caused the disciples to violate the command given way back in Leviticus against the blood imbibing; since your religion claims JESUS had a right to do that because HE had every right to countermand HIS own commands, then the god of Catholiciism is duplicitous, a mind changer with shadow of turning.

Well, I ask you. If its (only) symbolic blood, isnt drinking it symbolic blasphemy? Nope. We're told to do this and we're told why we're to do this.
It also helps if one understands the meaning of "poured out" in relation to the OT sacrifice involving blood. It was always poured out and never consumed.
We're told to "do this in remembrance of Me" and that "For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lords death until He comes."
Paul sure doesn't sound like he's echoing the RCC position of transubstantiation.
When we compare the passages from Matthew, Luke and 1 Corinthians against the passage from John 6 a difference is noted.
What is it?
