IF you were familiar with the Old Testament you would know that GOD commanded Israelites to not eat the blood for the life is in the blood. This command was in force ont he nigfht before Jesus went to the cross as the sinless sacrifice for our sin. The Disciples present at the Passover meal were still Israelites, so the command was to not eat the blood. Your religion dictates to the adherents that they violate the same command your religion claims the disciples violated on the night before the Cross.

BTW, the blood is not the Life, the LIFE is in the blood. Here is your religion's dilemma: if JESUS actually gave them His blood in the cup, He caused the disciples to violate the command given way back in Leviticus against the blood imbibing; since your religion claims JESUS had a right to do that because HE had every right to countermand HIS own commands, then the god of Catholiciism is duplicitous, a mind changer with shadow of turning.

The prohibition against blood was in place for animals and false gods because it was a pagan way of trying to obtain power/life/attributes of animals or false gods. It was a repetition of Adam’s sin of trying to become as powerful as God outside of God’s plan.

Jesus did not violate it by requiring His disciples to drink His blood because He is not an animal or a false god. He is the Only One from whom we can actually get life by consuming His Holy Flesh and Blood..

Saying we cannot consume Jesus’ blood because of this prohibition is like saying we cannot worship God because we are prohibited from worshiping false gods. It is not the action that is prohibited, it is the object of the action.

It appears to me that Our Lord could not have been more clear about this.

“Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.” [John 6:54]

“If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world.”[John 6:52]

What did Jesus give for the life of the world? He gave us His body, on the cross.

Love,
O2
