The ancient Roman prison where Sts. Peter and Paul were once confined has been re-opened to visitors after a year-long renovation.
The Mamertine prison, also known as the Carcer Tullianum, is a 3,000-year-old structure, located near the Roman Forum. The church of San Giuseppe dei Falegnami now stands above it, and in the prison itself there is an altar so that Mass can be celebrated at the site where the apostles were jailed.
The renovations to the prison include the introduction of a multimedia tour, which allows visitors to learn more about any facet of the building and its history by selecting items on a touch-pad screen.

Lots of people are Baptized and in God’s presence. It’s not necessary for Salvation - even though your religion teaches that it is.
As to your other question - get real will you?
What cult do you belong to that doesn’t believe baptism is needed for salvation?
Islam?
-—Strangely the bible makes no mention of Peter ever being in Rome.-—
There is strong evidence he was in Rome documented from relatively reliable early texts within 100 years of his death...
Paul’s letter to the church at Rome lists many saints he greets, but never mentions Peter by name...
I don’t find that conclusive either way..
Now whether or not Peter was the first Pope in a line of Popes is an entirely different matter...
-—Strangely theres no mention of Luther, Calvin or Henry VIII in the Bible.-—
Indeed, that would be strange if they were born in the first century.
But they weren’t..
Really silly analogy..
Why?
The Old Testament consistently predicted the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
-—Why?-—
You really don’t know...?
Christ was the fulfillment of the prophets and the OT word of God...
And Luther, Calvin and Henry VIII were all also the fulfillment of the “word of God”?
How come, between the three of them, they each established their own different false religions?
-—And Luther, Calvin and Henry VIII were all also the fulfillment of the word of God?-—
Prove it...
If you are going to start with the nonsense that protestant churches is a false religion, don’t bother responding...
I already have. And I’m right.
Which flavor of protestantism do you subscribe to?
-—I already have. And Im right.-—
So the God of the RC church, the one true and pure church has allowed 100’s of millions of people to believe in a false religion based on Christ teachings in the Word of God for hundreds of years...?
Talk about mass delusion...!
Maybe Luther saw the corrupt and compromised church in his day and tried to fix it as a response...
Nay, you are right...we are doomed...
There’s only One God.
Does your cult believe otherwise?
Jesus Christ founded my religion.
Who founded yours? Luther? Calvin? Henry VIII?
We took the Scavi (excavation)tour under the vatican. They let you peek through an opening in a brick wall (those neat little bricks the Romans were famous for. Can see the side of a little altar0cover over what is reportedly Peter;s grave.
On it it says Peter is here.” A tourist in the first center said engraved, “Peter, I am Here.”.
This gives a new meaning to “upon this rock i will build my church.
We were told that Constantine owned the vatican hill and he had the old cemetery lever to Peter’s grave to build the basilica.
Any way, anyone going to Rome google (or whatever) Scavi Tour and sign up early, only 20 or so can go down there a day.
Thanks. I have been on that tour. Very humbling.
I think that sums up your core argument in a nutshell, that the Christian world was in mass delusion from the Second Century until the 16th or 17th or 18th or 19th or 20th or 21st ...
I find it wiser, with the faith of a child, to take the Messiah at his word, that he built his church on Peter and the other apostles and prophets, with the Messiah himself as the chief cornerstone, and the gates of hell did not prevail against it in any century. I believe in one holy catholic apostolic Church from the First Century until this very day.
Show me where in the Bible where Jesus states you need baptism for salvation?
I’ll wait patiently...

Anymore stupid questions? Do you cherry-pick the Bible?
I believe the faithful who belong to the Catholic Church are brothers in Christ, though they have a few odd extra biblical beliefs...
That’s between God and them...
The tenets of the faith are important...these six beliefs make you a believer and salvation...
The virgin birth
The only begotten son of God
The blood and body as a sin sacrifice once and forever
The bodily resurrection of Christ
The forgiveness of our sin by his works
He ascended to the right hand of the Father
When Roman Catholics like ebb tide call the church I belong to a false religion, a cult, that is simply ignorant of history, the Bible, and even Roman Catholic teachings...
I ignore it...
