I ask your prayers for my father. He is eighty-eight years old and has been living alone since my mother died eight years ago. He has been in excellent health and condition for a man his age. He still drives. He is active in his church, the American Legion, and volunteers at the information desk of his county courthouse. He is a valued neighbor and member of his community. He went into the hospital last week for some bad back pain, an issue that pops up every couple of years. He also had a case of cellulitis, which was not responding terribly well to the antibiotics. They also found arterial fibrillation, which might be something new. He had not had any heart issues before.
My aunt has been feeding me some very alarming information about his condition (probably from my cousin, who is a nurse), and how even treatment for the heart issue can be life-threatening. I don't know if I want to believe her. I have to trust that the doctors will do the right thing, and that God will watch over their work.
I ask your prayers for the restoration of the health of a very vital man -- a good and kind man, a proud veteran of the Korean War era, and a patriot. I am thankful for having him for my fifty-nine years -- a lot longer than a lot of people have their parents. But I am scared, and I still need him.
Thank you.

Prayers for your father’s good health.
I forget to add that his name is Loren. And thank all of you for your kind replies.
Nearby Prayers from the western suburbs headed up now.
Heart treatment is improving all the time. Hang in there with your dad, Loren.
May the Lord reach down and heal him. Amen.
They also found arterial fibrillation, which might be something new.
Is he taking ibuprofen? Ibuprofen caused fibrillation in me, so I quit taking it.
Prayers in work.
I certainly will.
Praying for you and your dad.
Prayers up.
I don’t know, but it’s worth checking to.
In the elderly, you have to watch for medical side effects. There are several medicines to stop atrial fibrillation that may or may not prolong life so we don't use them a lot anymore.
The important medicine is using a blood thinner to prevent a stroke. (The atria don't pump so can get blood clots inside, which break off and can travel to the brain). So we thin the blood to prevent this, but bleed thinners are hard to gt the right dose, so this can cause bleeding.
And watch the driving... reflexes slow in the elderly.
Prayers sent. Hope you get to have your Dad around for many more years.
Prayers on the way..
God Bless..
A prayer offered up for your wonderful Dad and his rapid and complete recovery.
Loren, and you, are in my prayers. No matter what the picture, hold fast to the knowledge that God is in control, all is well. Neither your father in heaven nor your father on earth, will ever leave you.
Prayed just now.
Prayers up
Prayed.
Thanks for the information.
