These phenomena are cute and all that; but, seriously — why not a miracle of healing someone who is really sick, or lame, or blind? Why always these weeping, bleeding, madonna shaped tortilla markings?

From reading about other instances of visible Eucharistic miracles: it seems plausible that God enacts them in order to heal blindness.

Not regular blindness, but rather that specific kind of blindness that does not recognize the Real Presence.

For instance: the miracles sometimes involve people who’ve stolen the Host for some bad purpose (as if there could be a good one) or priests who have come close to losing their awareness of the sacrament.
