It is taking many years for unification with the SSPX to occur, if it happens at all. Unification with Lutherans is many decades away.
The Lutherans I know make it a point to point out differences between the two religions; they don’t want to be Catholic.

This is a gaggle of liberal Lutherans, to include the ELCA.
If Rome wants them, they can have them.

Agreed! I think there should be more dialog between Catholic and Lutherans, but ROME should converse with the International Lutheran Council.

The fundamental Reformation issue was, and remains, the question of authority. Ideally, scripture, right reason, and tradition should cohere. Often they do. But tensions and disagreements will arise. How to decide, especially when the leadership of the institutional church falls into error?
Over the past several decades, the RCC had a good run of strong, orthodox popes, under whom the question was largely moot. Now Francis is providing a reminder of the dangers of unsound authority in a highly centralized institution.

No, Pope Francis is providing the final step of what started with the Land O' Lakes garbage that was accepted by a majority of Catholics in this country and widely imitated elsewhere when it became obvious the majority of people in the pews didn't care.
Pope Francis is a punishment every bit as much as a trial.

What is the relationship of the LCMS to this group, if any?

LCMS considers the LWF fully heterodox and not in any way Lutheran (same consideration by ELS and WELS).
LWF considers the Confessions to be a valid exposition of Scripture “in so far” as they reveal the doctrine of God.

What is the relationship of the LCMS to this group, if any? None. The Lutheran World Federation is a bunch of liberal pseudo-Lutheran groups who have abandoned the teachings of Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions.

What is the relationship of the LCMS to this group, if any?None, thank God. I pray for the day of reconciliation across the Christian faith, but this is not the way to do it.

This is not the LCMS or the Lutheran synods that have remained true to biblical teaching. It would not surprise me if the ELCA went down this path, they already have with the Episcopalians. The one world religion is forming
Having said that, the true Lutheran denominations would welcome reuniting with the RCs. As soon as they give up Msry worship, indulgences, praying to saints and the other 95 suggestions Luther made. Remember, Luther’s plan was to reform the RC church not divide it. We would love all denominations to embrace Biblical Truth. Sadly, I do not see that happening anymore now than it did 500 years ago.
Until that time, here we stand, we can do no other.

Ugh...
Yeah, I’m offended that they even use the name ‘Lutheran.’ We are not in any kind of fellowship with this group unless something big happened while I wasn’t looking.

Along with Albion, I appreciate the info provided.
Born, baptized, confirmed and wed in the traditional, conservative, biblical, true Lutheran Church, the LCMC.
