The Death and Vanity of David Bowie
IFB ^ | 1/15/16

Posted on 01/15/2016 7:52:36 PM PST by The Ignorant Fisherman

How tragic it is when a fallen human being gives themselves totally over to the base and lawless practices of this little fallen world and sell their souls seeking to find satisfaction and contentment by living a godless and lawless life. In the end of one's godless vanity there is an ETERNAL price to be paid which has now become a HORRIFIC SOBERING REALITY (Psalm 14:1-3, Mark 8:36-37, Rom. 3; 5:12-21, Gal. 6:7-8, Jude 1:11-13, Rev. 20:11-15).

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36-37

David Bowie's death this week has multitudes around the world reflecting on his existence here in time. Mr. Bowie was one of society's arch godless trendsetters who pushed the limits and boundaries of Almighty God's moral absolutes like none other for his time (Rom. 1:18-32). David was a mighty lawless tool and lewd vanguard in the hands of the god of this world in seeking to transform and destroy the Judeo/Christian culture worldwide (Matt. 7:16-18, Rom. 1:18-32, Jude 1:8-13,18). David Bowie is a trendsetter hero and worshiped by millions throughout the world for his anti - Creator trendsetting ways. What brief things I just shared about David Bowie is well known by all and his opinions and thoughts about Almighty God are his own judge on this matter.

Fulton J. Sheen once said that in heaven we’ll have three surprises:

1) We’ll see people there that we didn’t expect to see
The
2) We won’t see people there that we did expect to see, and

3) We’ll be surprised to see ourselves there!

Why is Bowie singled out. Here’s a guy that lived the last 20+ years of his life as a devoted husband and family man.

Pretty tame by the standards of most celebrities these days. Yes, he was wild in the 70s, he certainly wasn’t alone in that department.

So David Bowie did not live a life of debauchery? Would you be proud to have a son like David Bowie?

I do not think anything needs to be said to the widow or family, but this person hardly embodied admirable traits, which is what this piece seeks to point out.

Maybe you can’t tell that there’s a vast amount of distance between common decency and idolization.

I always thought our mothers taught us there are certain things you just don’t do. Trashing someone who just died is one of those things.

Whether it is someone I intensely liked/ admired or someone I had no respect for; slagging someone off right after they die is completely classless. Also it’s peace not piece.

Not the way he was in the 70s to be sure, but by all accounts, almost everyone who dealt with him after that, said he has the nicest man and very professional.

" I was unable to visit with him in his final days."

Sorry for your loss. Why were you unable to visit him?

Of all the places that we encounter it, ‘holier-than-thou’ is least attractive in a Christian; probably most dangerous to the Christian, as well...

But the film is a saddening bore
For she’s lived it ten times or more
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on

Sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man! Look at those cavemen go
It’s the freakiest show
Take a look at the Lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! Wonder if he’ll ever know
He’s in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?

... Ars gratia artis

Look. The man lived his life in the lime light and sought continual attention and now that he is gone we are supposed to give him privacy?

He lived a less than admirable life and yet he is somehow admired. He lived a life contrary to what many on this site think of as an appropriate way for a grown man to behave and yet is well thought of and missed. Strange ttis passing strange.

Your two questions have nothing to do w/ why I find Fisher boy’s post repugnant. He JUST died. Show some grace, some kindness. Calling yourself a Christian & then trashing someone who just died is not a Christian attribute.

Kind of funny considering that for the last ten years he hardly made any public appearances.

Hey, don't I get a "Thank you!"?

I fed him to humble.

Wait'll humble gets here. Come back for the fireworks.

It'll warm the cockles of your heart. :)

I am sure he was nice. I knew a man who ran a porn store who was the nicest guy in the world. I worked as a floor detective and busted all sorts of really nice people. Ask anybody, Ted Bundy was a really nice guy. Nice and the fact that he produced some rather vial stuff is neither here nor there.

I did not think this was the best article but at least it was one that didn’t jump on the band wagon of how wonderful this guy’s corrupting influence was.

Yep, and to people who might be watching to see if Christianity is something they want to know more about.

I don’t care if you admire him or not, but it’s only decent to wait for him to cool off before you trash him.

If you find that strange, then you have my sympathy.

My point is there are plenty of people who die and many nasty things are said about them on this site, especially homosexuals. I think it is wrong to say good riddance. It is sad when people die, but this man died living a questionable life and this article questions that life.

I do not think this article is nasty or spiteful. I think it points out some legitimate flaws in this guy’s character. He produced some very questionable things. I do not think it is wrong to point that out. To ignore the facts is to lie.
