Catholics from around the nation are calling upon officials in Oklahoma City to revoke a permit that will allow a Satanist to publicly desecrate a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Christmas Eve.

TFPStudentAction.com is reporting on a petition drive that is asking the city to rethink its plans to permit Adam Daniels, the same Satanist who staged a black mass in the city last year, to pour stage blood over a statue of Our Lady. The event will take place on December 24 in front of St. Joseph Old Cathedral in Oklahoma City.

"The purpose of the blood is to add another layer of corruption to Mary, which is an emblem of the Catholic Church," Daniels recently told The Oklahoman.

News of the blasphemous presentation has sparked ire in Catholics around the nation as they prepare for one the holiest feast days in the Church.

"This public attack against the Mother of God on Christmas Eve is more than a morbid cry for media attention and should be called out for what it really is: religious persecution with City Hall approval," the TFP says.

"To dismiss this satanic desecration right in front of St. Joseph Old Cathedral as a simple publicity stunt is to ignore the grave nature of this public sin and its consequences for our nation as one nation under God."

As a result, they have launched a petition drive addressed to Mick Cornett, the mayor of Oklahoma City, asking him to revoke the permit.

"With Oklahoma City’s apparent stamp of approval, satanists will desecrate a statue of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, in front of St. Joseph Old Cathedral on Christmas Eve," the petition reads. "I respectfully urge you to revoke the permit issued for this public sacrilege which will only incite hatred against God and His Church, injure the name of Mary, disturb the peace and harm the community. Stop this religious persecution."

TFP Student Action is planning a peaceful protest outside City Hall on Wednesday, December 23, at noon where they will recite the Holy Rosary.

" ... [W]hat better Christmas gift can we offer the Infant Jesus [than] a robust defense of His Mother’s good name."

Who owns the statue?

If the city owns it, then I don't consider it to be Sacred. So it can't be desecrated.

I disagree entirely. Ownership is not a governing principle in any such case as this ...

"This is my tarbaby, so I can spit on it all I want." ... Yeah.

Don’t assume I’m a Catholic. My basic beliefs may be very different from yours. Which is OK by me. I don’t tell you what to believe....

My point is somewhat different. I do not believe that God would allow something which is Holy to be owned by a Satanist. So, if he owns it, then it isn’t Holy.

What’s the supposed old Chinese epithet? “May you live in interesting times.”

If you follow this line of thinking, it’s a retreat from the world into your own mind. Historically, of course, the Church did not quail at the idea of enforcing its standards upon the world in real terms. Far from it.

In the 1850s, at the height of the Know Nothing movement, Bishop Hughes warned the anti-Catholic mayor of New York that if Nativist mobs destroyed Catholic churches, the city's Catholics would turn New York into another Moscow, alluding to Napoleon burning that city in 1812. In the 1920s, Catholic resistance to Ku Klux Klan activities led to riots, including the one in Queens, NY, in which Donald Trump's father was somehow involved. Resistance is necessary, whether against 19th Century nativists or 21st Century Satanists.

They don’t need rifles. If they showed up with sticks and stones, or spit and jello...if they just SHOWED UP with something more than “respectful pleas”, they could stop this crap.

Run this guy off the street, and don’t stop until they have to take people away from City Hall in cuffs. Next time, the puny political types will think twice before they incite Catholics.

“...the Church did not quail at the idea of enforcing its standards...”

Yes. It’s a shame that the Cathars didn’t have a Second Amendment. And....uh....firearms ;-)

But Francis ain’t Innocent III and Oklahoma City ain’t Languedoc.

Hmm...maybe we SHOULD notify the mohammadens. According to them Jesus is a prophet and Mary is His Mother.

Bring popcorn.

It's called hyperbole, if Catholics started killing people in anger over something like this they really wouldn't be Catholics anymore now would they..........oh unless they were liberal abortion proponents, then they would think they were still Catholics.

I signed the petition. This statue behind the church of Jesus weeping seems appropriate for how low our society has sunk.

Yeah maybe you could shoot his ear off.

Like Peter at the betrayal of Jesus.

Put down the guns, it’s a spiritual battle.

They wouldn’t even need rifles. These kinds of people are cowards to the heart and a huge showing of glowering, praying, picture taking people would scare them right off.

“Don’t assume I’m a Catholic.”

I didn’t.

“My basic beliefs may be very different from yours.”

Undoubtedly.

“Which is OK by me. I don’t tell you what to believe....”

And you shouldn’t. But I will tell you what is true and what isn’t if that’s known. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not. Truth is still truth even if someone rejects it.

“Put down the guns, it’s a spiritual battle.”

It is a spiritual battle - but spiritual battles are also fought with material things. There were ships and men at the Battle of Lepanto not just rosaries.

I think they’re bringing their own statue: “Set up of the display will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the display must be dismantled by 6:15 p.m., the permit states.” - http://newsok.com/article/5467358
