Analysis
Nov. 12, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) - A Dominican friar, Fr. Adriano Oliva, has celebrated the 800th anniversary of his religious order with a book about âthe Church, the divorced and remarried, and homosexual couples.â
Amours (âLovesâ) is a study of St Thomas Aquinasâ definition of love and aims to show that the âAngelic Doctorâ recognized the ânaturalâ character of homosexuality. In the wake of the Synod on the family, Oliva pleads for new ways of welcoming divorced and remarried and homosexual couples into the Church and of recognizing their unions in civil law.
His editor, the âeditions du Cerfâ publishing house, is the historic Dominican editor in France, founded at the request of Pope Pius XI in 1929. It still functions under religious supervision.

Satanism
If I remember right Aquinas was so fat that they had to cut away the table so that he could get close enough to get his spoon in the food. If so he probably considered gluttony a natural state of affairs too.
Catholics should follow Augustine not Aquinas
Maybe follow Christ and remember God called gays obominations.
This was discovered all of a sudden, hey?
After the Fall, man’s “normal” was certainly not God’s. I doubt Aquinas meant GOD viewed homosexuality as normal.
I noticed the article did not get deep into that “abomination” word.
It IS natural. It’s the natural result of turning away from God.
That is quite a good point.
The homofacists can’t point to the Bible to make this stuff up. They have to find a theologian who relied heavily on secular philosophy.
Exceptionally convenient.
That's how everything except the constant teaching of the Catholic Church based on the entire Bible and what the Apostles handed down in as Tradition works; when the pupil is inconvenienced, the teacher appears.

Aquinas was a very large man, but not obese. People would stop and stare as he walked by because he was tall and big.
Apparently, this province has some flakey friars. But a basic principle of Thomistic thought is that things have “ends.” So to use genitals in a way which precludes there natural end ... generation, and for sexual pleasure alone is perverse, unnatural, disordered.
But normally stimulation of the genitals is pleasurable. It's “natural” to seek pleasure. So, I can see an arguments which says homosexual acts are natural in a particular way, while viewed more holistically they are still unnatural, disordered, etc.
It's natural to want a second bowl of ice cream, but unnatural to eat in a way which does not build up the body and maintain one’s health.
The only reason I think he must be saying more is that anyone who spent a week on the high points of the Summa would know tnat. So why would he take the trouble.
But I don't expect reporters to care about this or even to understand it. So, I'm hanging back until I can see the text.
I guess it depends on how one defines “natural”, doesn’t it?
Look. Sin is natural. Everyone after Adam is born with a sin nature.
So, while homosexuality isn’t in my wheelhouse of sins, impatience and laziness do arise from within me.
I hope this makes sense. God doesn’t approve of any of these behaviours.
Our sin is why he sent His Son.
âAngelic Doctorâ recognized the ânaturalâ character of homosexuality.”
So, whats happening today is not the first time homosexuals
have tried to justify their perversion by infiltrating the
Church and undermining the word of God from within.
“I guess it depends on how one defines ânaturalâ, doesnât it?”
Words do mean things. Natural = Normal Right?
Isn’t “normal” functioning within ones design?
The only way I can put nature and homosexuality in the
same context is to say that,”homosexuality” is “natures”
way of saying “do not reproduce, you have nothing to contribute
to the human gene pool”.
I’ll go with the Apostle Paul who specifically said it was unnatural.
You don’t remember right. Aquinas was not THAT, and he wasn’t known for eating a lot. Albertus Magnus was the really fat one, and I find the story you cite to be doubtful.
Adultery, fornication, and polygamy are natural too. Natural Man is a degenerate sinner. For those who do not have the counsel of the Holy Spirit, all sorts of sins seem “natural”.
