Urgent prayers: I posted earlier in the week that a friend of mines newborn infant was admitted to the hospital. I just received word that she is being taken in for a bone marrow transplant. She will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. Her name is Sawyer Jane, Her parents are Brent and Wendi. Please pray for the family and the doctors.
Prayers up.
Blessings and thanks to all of you for your prayers.
Prayers up for little Sawyer Jane, her parents Brent and Wendi and all those little families struggling with unknown illnesses. May they find moments of peace in their anguish.
11/8 - As we continue the roller coaster of emotions, today was no different. She had an MRI for 2.5 hours today which was fine in the beginning. Then she screamed for the last 45 minutes which was hard to hear. However, we knew how important it was for this to be completed so the team of doctors could get a closer look at the tumor.
The tumor turns to the spinal cord, but is not yet connected, this is a good thing. There is also a small growth on the adrenal gland above the kidney. Tomorrow, the team of doctors will determine which growth to biopsy, how will they perform this biopsy, etc. At some point this week, the biopsy will happen, the cells will be studied, a plan of action will be discussed, and we’ll go from there.
Again, Sawyer continues to surprise us daily with her persistence on beating this. Her strength gives Brent and I such encouragement! Thank you all for your continued support. It’s reassuring and comforting.
Continued prayers.
Still praying here for Sawyer. I’d be screaming too if I were in an MRI for 2.5 hours.
Gosh, I just spent 45 minutes in an MRI this week, and that was plenty.
Praying.

Joining you in prayer.
Thank you for the ping. Will be praying for this little one.
11/9 - I'm really not even sure where to begin. As soon as we get what seems to be good news, we're quickly given bad news that rocks our world.
We were told this morning that the tumor on her backbone was operable. They were going to hold off on the biopsy and run a test to see if there were anymore pockets of the neuroblastoma in her body. Before we could even get to that test, we were informed this afternoon that the MRI yesterday shows what appears to be another tumor located on her brain. We're currently sitting in MRI as Sawyer gets another scan of her brain and neck area.
I'm not even at a loss for words, I'm at a loss of everything. Brent and I are obviously struggling with the continuous news roller coaster. You can say life's not fair or this is the hand she was dealt, but when you look your 3 week old in the eyes knowing what's happening inside of her, I can only ask, why?
Brent and I are still fighting for her. We still believe we're leaving here with a healthy Sawyer Jane. But our road there just got a bit bumpier. We feel loved and supported from all around, from people we do and don't know, and honestly you can't know how much that means to us. Continue praying for baby Sawyer. Our baby girl is a fighter and so are we.
I am asking if you have not done so please put them on your churches prayer list.
That's the way it always seems to be with cancer. You receive hopeful news one day, bad news the next, then good news, then bad news again, and so on.
Praying that these loving parents receive good news again and that the doctors are able to help Sawyer.
