Is it just me, or does the concept of imposing de-centralization from the top down, seem oxymoronic?

The Catholic Church is a doomed institution, not only from the division that Francis brings, but more fundamentally it is an organization whose structure, doctrine and operation is at odds with God and Jesus Christ.
The Rome’s Catholic Church elite are playing out their predestined role to drive the world toward a new world order hell.

“Could fall apart”?
That’s probably a big overstatement but I don’t think it would be good for The Church.

>> giving local bishops conferences more freedom to work out their own solutions to the problems of divorce and homosexuality
Hey, look on the bright side!
Instead of those tedious chicken dinner feasts and fish fries, local parishes can raise funds by running a bath house at the KC hall — or adjacent to the sanctuary.
And recruiting priests will be a LOT easier, with the entire homosexual population of the US and Europe to choose from.

The Orthodox Churches will have more consistency of doctrine than the Catholic Church if Francis’s project is made reality.

Hmmm "the Catholic Church could fall apart," eh? P>How long has that business been operating? I'll tell you what - without knowing exactly how long the Church has been operating, I am prepared to bet that a year from now that business will still be operating.
Any takers?

This is more authoritarian language than I can remember Benedict XVI using as pope. It means: I call the shots. In the end, you listen to me, not the other way around. Isn't that what Catholicism tells us is so good about having the Pope?
Not everyone being their own "priest"????

Francis told them that the sense of faith impedes the rigid separation between the Teaching Church and the Learning Church, because the flock possesses its own sense to discern the new roads that the Lord reveals to the church
Meaning? Meaning that the Church will take up a position of "going with the flow" and letting whatever the current zeitgeist of the moment decide what their position is on faith and morals. Everyone loves same sex marriage? The church should learn from the flock, it's now okay! Whatever they say goes!
And the church dies because nobody puts up with spending an hour every week and giving up 10% (or whatever) of their income to have some pastor take a poll of the congregation and tell them the result is now church doctrine. When the church stops claiming it has universal bedrock truths, what's the point?
Saint Malachy laid out a prophecy of all the future Popes and per his timeline he predicted that this pope, who he referred to as "Peter the Roman", would be the last. Perhaps he got it right. Heck, Francis emphasizing his title of "Bishop of Rome" even lines up.

But in yesterdays keynote speech, delivered as the synod enters its last week, Francis told them that the decentralisation will be imposed from above. Well he's already mastered Newspeak.
