Was he “mistranslated” again?
Every time this guy opens his mouth, I find more reason to distrust and dislike him.
[the Church should not be a stuffy “museum of memories” but have the courage to change if that was what God wanted.]
ALMIGHTY GOD: THE SAME - YESTERDAY, TODAY, & TOMORROW
Bible says "I am the Lord, I change not." (Mal. 3:6)
A couple of years ago, one of my employees told me she belonged to a "free style" Christian group. She said the elders would meet periodically to vote on what their beliefs were.
This applies to mr Hope and Change too.
have the courage to change if that was what God wanted.

Dear Holy Father,
there is a big difference between ‘hardened hearts’... (it is always correct to preach or teach against hardened hearts!)...................
and .... any direct assault on clear Biblical teaching (which we PRAY you would never do, or allow)
.....
The Church should indeed have OPEN DOORS, all should be welcomed into the Church.... and everyone being a sinner, everyone should be received with love and compassion and full pastoral caring
but as Jesus said when welcoming and receiving and extending compassionate pastral care to a sinner,
“go and sin no more!”
welcome people into the Church, but maintain the correct teachings. they are coming to the Church, they are to be helped and lifted up.... we are not supposed to descend to their level of sins....we are to try to stengthen them, not enable them in an open course of continued transgressions
Prayerfully yours,
fhc
Jesus CHRIST is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Heb. 13:8)
Maybe Papa should spend more time in GOD’s Word, and less time seeking to please men.
Standing up for marriage and family means you lose 2%, the homosexuals, and 5%-10% who steadfastly support them to justify their own sexual freedom. Another 10% ignore right and wrong to pursue fairness, tolerance, change, etc.
But the 70-80% that realize the value of traditional family will embrace the church for standing up for the traditional family.
Is he a Pope or a tour guide???????????????
Ahhh, NO. I will follow the Bible not a worldly man.
Doesn’t the Catholic Church have some sort of impeachment process?
We are all sinners, and so we need to get our own houses in order - each of us. If we do that, we will change the world.
Francis is intentionally obtuse.
Wonder what he wants to change??
Just pay attention to what he (Francis) says (the portion in quotes). It’s not that hard.
Or not, if you wish to believe something differently.
Everyone (on FR) should note though that Reuters yet again has inserted their own editorializing and agenda into this “article”.
I can remember when everyone here knew that about Reuters. And could also spot it with ease.
Whatever though. If it helps you sleep better at night to believe (with Reuters’ “help”) he’s...whatever you want to believe he’s doing...ok!
Good luck with that.
Change is the gospel, as written. It is God, the unchanging Rock of our Salvation. Changing people lives with the Good News!
Fundamental Christian beliefs do not change or we are condemned to hell.
When I converted to Catholicism, the teacher of the RCIA class was a wise, wonderful old priest who said, “The church is not a museum for saints. It is a hospital for sinners.”
I think this is what Francis is trying to express, and of course the lefty media want to blur the distinction between sin and sinner.
He is not saying sin is no longer sinful. He has stated —repeatedly—that the church’s position on homosexuality has not and will not change.
Likewise the church’s position on mercy and forgiveness.
“Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more.”
What he’s saying IS biblical, which is precisely why the media don’t understand it and insist on politicizing it.
He is inviting sinners to come into the church, lay their sins at the foot of the Cross, and be healed.
