"The image of the family, as God wills it, is made up of one man and one woman in view of the good of the spouses and also of the generation and education of children -- is deformed through powerful contrary projects supported by ideological colonizations."

Pope Francis

No, that can’t be because every loose nut faux traditionalist here said the pope was going to change marriage, or get married, or come out for gay marriage, or come out of the closet, or order pizza with anchovies or some other sort of atrocity.

I hope (and pray) he will continue to give voice to this extremely important issue.

“Zenit staff.” I read Zenit daily during the pontificates of John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Then Francis became pope and my visits to Zenit stopped. Very sad how the journalistic talents from around the world are wasted on a light weight in Rome, just as the journalistic talents in the United States are wasted on the tyrants in Washington.

Pope Francis is very clear in his support of traditional marriage.

Pope Francis is also very clear in his support for anti-capitalists. So sad Catholics have a third world Pope who is clueless about free markets.

Pope: Family as God Wills It - 1 Man and 1 Woman - Is Being Deformed

If the truth be known, it has been perverted.

Yeah, we got that. Pope Francis has proclaimed nothing but one husband/one wife, one father/one mother, two grandfathers/two grandmothers, nine siblings, two cats, and three lizards.

I don’t understand why anyone doesn’t get it at this point.

From the Vatican’s website:

“With reference to the issue of giving communion to persons in a second union (because those who are divorced can receive communion, there is no problem, but when they are in a second union, they can’t…), I believe that we need to look at this within the larger context of the entire pastoral care of marriage. And so it is a problem. But also – a parenthesis – the Orthodox have a different practice. They follow the theology of what they call oikonomia, and they give a second chance, they allow it. But I believe that this problem – and here I close the parenthesis – must be studied within the context of the pastoral care of marriage. And so, two things: first, one of the themes to be examined with the eight members of the Council of Cardinals with whom I will meet on 1-3 October is how to move forward in the pastoral care of marriage, and this problem will come up there. And a second thing: two weeks ago the Secretary of the Synod of Bishops met with me about the theme of the next Synod.”

When he’s right he’s right. The problem is that he’s so often wrong that something like this is really big news.

Very comforting.

As it should be.
