Here is yet more information, for those who miss the Rapture and are here after the event. This is for people, not any particular congregation of people. Please, think about it ...
Job 1:8
Tain't what the Book says...
Revelation 20:4
Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. - See more at: http://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Beheading#sthash.DCLLZWfx.dpuf
Twitter; Facebook, yada....
that seems incongruent with the warnings to watch.
As for the seven churches.... Revelation does not include Colossae, Miletus, Hierapolis, or Magnesia.... The seven named are chosen to symbolize the whole Church...and do a fabulous work of denoting such. Therefore All believers learn and are able to see themselves in these 7 churches that represent the whole.
Unfortunately that is not taught in the scripture. Do you know where that tradition comes from ?
As for Dispensationalists or others who categorize themselves....I simply stand on what I know from scripture...I don't follow a certain popular or unpopular position though some have shared on FR my position leans toward Dispensationalist.....
That seems unlikely to me; are you pre, mid, or post tribulation regarding the rapture, and how could you know that, while there is such a wide body of opinion and teaching, without simply following someone else's teaching ?
I've noticed this.
They also tend to bring in other stuff to 'back up' their arguments.
Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
That's because God didn't write the bible like a dime store novel...You will rarely find the answer to a thing in a single verse...And often not even in a single chapter, or even book...
Why conflate the two??? You can't conflate the 2 if you look beyond the words trumps or trumpet...
In the Rapture Jesus collects CHRISTIANS ONLY from the earth...They go to a wedding...There is no scripture indicating a Wedding takes place after the Tribulation...
A spiritual Calvinosaurus if you will.
You must be planning to hunt something you’d only get one shot at.
Dump a LOT of lead in the general direction and you’ll probably hit it.
You’re obstinate!
Get your programs!!!
Right HERE!!!
They never raise their voice or change their modulation; droning on and on and on...
That’s nice but Psalm 27:5 is a great comfort.
His feet never touch the ground?....so it doesn’t count?
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Tain't what the Book says...
Sure it is...The Book says lots of things that seem to contradict, but they don't...This verse is divided into 2 parts (2Tim 2:15)
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them:
Paul is looking ahead into the Millennial reign and sees the church ruling and reigning with Jesus Christ, clothed in their glorified bodies (that happened at the Rapture)...
and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Here we have the souls of the Tribulation saints all of whom get killed...
Let’s just say that sounds pretty corny and not Scriptural.
You are so right about that!
May I add some other little “conveniences” and incremental innovations that could very easily lead to “The Mark of the beast”:
1. Loyalty Cards at Grocery Stores and Pharmacies:
It used to be that a “sale was a sale, a coupon was a coupon, and a deal was a deal. NOW, unless you present a “Loyalty Card” you can’t get the “2 for 1”, use coupons, or get discounts.
2. Obamacare:
Citizens are now required by law to have medical insurance. And it has to be just what the government demands or you get fined (or “Taxed!”)
3. Turnpike Passes:
A sticker in your window tells the government where you are driving, and what time of day it is, and you PAY for the privilege. Many turnpikes have removed their human occupied toll booths, thus making these stickers mandatory.
4. Surveillance cameras:
EVERYWHERE...yet they do nothing to prevent or solve crimes.
5. Red Light Cameras:
It has been shown that these cause more accidents than they prevent.
6. ATM debit cards:
All your purchases are being monitored.
(Plus, all the other things you mentioned!)
There are three different Greek words which are used relative to Christ’s return to this earth.
They are:
(1) parousia, as already defined;
(2) epiphaneia, or, the “Epiphany,” the Advent (arrival) of Christ, meaning “a manifestation, appearing, brightness,”
and, (3) apokalupsis, meaning “disclosure, appearing, coming, lighten, manifestation, be revealed, revelation.”
>>I agree with you completely, a good answer for all these folks on this thread trying to make two separate events out of the one event.
However, I didn’t mean any of these three words when I said the word “rapture” is in the Latin version of 1 Thess. 4. I was referring to the Greek word “harpazo,” in Latin “rapture,” in English it is “caught up” (verse 17).
Also notice that do not stay “in the clouds”, but we stay “with the Lord”.
And WHERE is the LORD going ?
” And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives,
which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west,
and there shall be a very great valley;and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. “
>>A hearty AMEN from me! Jesus was standing on the mount of Olives with the disciples when he was taken to heaven, “a cloud receiving him out of their sight.” Acts 1:9-12 goes on to say: “this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
His feet will return to the place he left. He left from the mount of Olives, he will return to the mount of olives (the passage from Zech. 14 you quoted).
When he left the mount of Olives, it was in one movement from earth to heaven, when he returns it will be in one movement - from heaven to earth, per Zech. 14 to the mount of Olives from whence he left.
When he left, it was in the clouds of heaven (Acts 1:9), when he returns it will be in the clouds of heaven, Dan. 7:13, Matt. 24:29-31, 1 Thess. 4:17, Rev. 1:7.
His one-event parousia will be in a post-tribulational setting (the setting in Zech. 14 is post-tribulational).
I have pointed out repeatedly on this thread that it does not take two separate events, Acts 1:9-12 with Zech. 14:1-5 agrees, it has it being done in one event.
