You are so right about that!

May I add some other little “conveniences” and incremental innovations that could very easily lead to “The Mark of the beast”:

1. Loyalty Cards at Grocery Stores and Pharmacies:
It used to be that a “sale was a sale, a coupon was a coupon, and a deal was a deal. NOW, unless you present a “Loyalty Card” you can’t get the “2 for 1”, use coupons, or get discounts.

2. Obamacare:
Citizens are now required by law to have medical insurance. And it has to be just what the government demands or you get fined (or “Taxed!”)

3. Turnpike Passes:
A sticker in your window tells the government where you are driving, and what time of day it is, and you PAY for the privilege. Many turnpikes have removed their human occupied toll booths, thus making these stickers mandatory.

4. Surveillance cameras:
EVERYWHERE...yet they do nothing to prevent or solve crimes.

5. Red Light Cameras:
It has been shown that these cause more accidents than they prevent.

6. ATM debit cards:
All your purchases are being monitored.

(Plus, all the other things you mentioned!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me add emphasis to the relevant part of my previous post via uppercase lettering.
(begin quote)
These are just some of the things promised (AND IN SOME CASES ALREADY DELIVERED) by advanced mobile and tracking technologies.
(end quote)
The biggest thing missing from the current technologies that is needed for a sub-dermal implant is a near complete database centralization. That’s much easier to accomplish than the first steps that were required, and it’s well on it’s way.
Bank centralization? Eliminate all other banks just like all medical insurance companies are being eliminated today, making the Federal government into the de facto insurer. Accelerated by a horrific financial crisis, of course - it doesn’t even matter if the crisis is real (see September 2008).
The other thing that subdermal implants do is make it impossible to steal money or make illegal purchases. Street robberies gone, drug cartel influence gone, etc. Alternatively, food purchases, medicine purchases, or anything else the government decides you don’t need if you oppose it can be made “illegal”... for you, that is.
Finally, with the correct implant technology, you can be tracked anywhere a satellite or cell tower can reach. Great if you’re an abducted kidergartener, not so great if you’re a political fugitive who is guilty of wrongthink.
The ‘vast cloud of witnesses’ (angels?) have been recording this info forever; it’s just NOW that the STATE has the powers to do so as well.
The cameras, that are watching your car at intersections, seem to be pointing in the WINDSHIELD (not the license plate)
The ones on the highway know WHEN you went by and how far it was to the camera before it; thus it knows how FAST you are going.
Is the camera on your fone REALLY turned off right now??
